Shut Up About Obama’s Amnesty Plan Unless You Do This One Thing
Red State ^ | December 4th, 2014 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 12/04/2014 8:14:12 AM PST by xzins

You have given up your right to complain about Barack Obama’s amnesty plan.

Just shut up. Stop complaining.

You know why? Because you did not do the one thing that could stop it. You did not call your congressman despite me making it very easy for you to do so.

I’m in Washington, D.C. right now. Last night I had several members of congress tell me that they’re barely hearing from anybody.

So stop your bellyaching about amnesty if you can’t even be bothered to call.

If you aren’t willing to call your congressman and demand he defund amnesty, stop bellyaching about it. Otherwise call now.

I like YOUR idea of handing that section of Simpson-Mazzoli to your rep and ask if he’s had two years notice that zero is going to give SSNs to illegals? Did anything ever happen with that?

Or how about Congress actually doing the right thing without hearing from their constituents on the matter? I know, crazy talk, but still...

One you forgot: Paul Gosar (R-Az) 202-225-2315

He is my Congressman, I called his office Monday, the only one I called that I got a real person. The aid I spoke to stated the Congressman was in agreement with me.

This is my letter to my congressman:

Dear Congressman Wenstrup,

Obama’s order to ignore the law and permit illegal immigrants no longer to worry about prosecution is a violation of a power of Congress granted in the U.S. Constitution. For Obama also to offer any benefits including social security, welfare, food stamps, etc. is an illegal act.

First, it’s the illegal appropriation of power not granted him in the Constitution.
Second, in my opinion, it’s a violation of provisions in the Simpson/Mazzoli Act, the Naturalization Act of 1986 that forbids such action by a president.

Obama must be stopped. Congress must NOT fund his actions for an entire year. Either defund ICE now fully or fund everything now with ICE funded only for 2-3 months, so the new CONGRESS gets to revisit this.

As mentioned in the 2nd point above, I believe Obama’s action, once it involves social security, has already been denied a president’s executive discretion by that current Naturalization law.

I would like to see Congress file an amicus brief with each state that is suing Obama’s illegal executive actions.

In no case, do I want my representative fully funding these actions for an entire funding period. In no case, do I want any inhumane or abusive actions taken against otherwise peaceful illegal aliens as they are returned in a humane process to their country of origin.

Thanks for your consideration of my views.

Sincerely,

You already know that the GOP-E and the Chamber of Commerce is putting tremendous pressure on them. Our doing nothing is not a wise option.

0bola has *skirted* around the EO hot potato and has rebranded his unlawful measure as an *Executive ACTION*. (I noticed this new term being bandied about, in the mainstream, a day after the Vegas *signing*, of his non-EO.)
“Action” is parceltongue for “Order”.

I have written every activist, journalist, and talk show I can think of and it has gotten zero mention.

Either my take on it is incredibly wrong, or it is impossible to actually get heard through mass of mail going to these people, or it isn’t worth their time to look it up, or they don’t want to mention it.

I’m puzzled, but I’ll keep emailing.

We do need to keep their feet to the fire. If we burn up the phone lines and email it will remind them that DC is not their home

Warren might be out at a native American pow wow with the rest of her tribe. Kennedy is inside a bottle since the holiday season started a week ago.

This fraud can shove it. After helping promote the very people that are responsible to reelection, methinks his cunning plan it to project too much. as in “He doth protest too much”.

Good law, but the president won’t stop it.

We need something to stopgap this until next congress, and then we need to permanently stop it. Nothing requiring a presidential signature will be successful.

I think your take on it is 100% correct and there is elitist shock that there it is, in black and white, that the executive must advise Congress two years in advance before issuing SSNs or benefits.

Maybe you should call Judicial Watch.

“I’m in Washington, D.C. right now. Last night I had several members of congress tell me that they’re barely hearing from anybody.”

Yes, because most thinking people are aware that the RINO party is every bit as corrupt as the dims and that their goals are the same. The RINOs vote with the dims or vote to enhance the dims. They could have received 100 million calls and STILL would have voted with the dims. Those ‘several members of Congress’ lie, cheat, steal and kill to advance the totalitarian cause.

Washington needs to be burned down to the ground while all ‘officials’ are sitting comfortably in their offices.

I’m telling you, you are going to eventually hit it out of the park with your noticing that section. It puts a full stop to Hal Rogers’ plan with General Dynamics.

If elected officials are being forced to side with leadership which favors allowing illegals to remain, what better excuse to vote as directed by the leadershop then to claim no one said they opposed obama’s action.

There is no way to know how many calls were made in opposition.

I suggest you tell that to Senate Conservatives, as it was their list.

The aid I spoke to stated the Congressman was in agreement with me.

They still need the calls because they do keep count.

Call Greg Abbott’s office. His people are VERY responsive, I emailed them about a ‘voluntary’ traffic stop blood-draw in Fort Worth and they put an end to it the next day.

While figuratively true, mere venting is not going to stop this until the new congress gets a crack at it. It SHOULD make a difference that the House and Senate now have the power to put things on Obama’s desk for him to publicly veto.

They CAN continue to fund the entire government with ICE funded only in 2 month increments.

Personally, I don’t think the Cruz supposed ‘shut-down’ hurt anything....if the recent election is any indication. Cruz’s stock is higher than ever; and the mid-terms saw the fascists get blown away. Now even chuckie shumer is playing the cyoa with obamacare.

That’s a turn around.

We need to show (1) how amnesty hurts American workers, and (2) how the constitution is severely injured by any interpretation that the president can pick and choose pieces of laws he feels like enforcing.

If that’s the case, we don’t need a congress. We just need Comrade Dictator.
