Liberals and socialists will never learn and Emanuel is a prime example.

Chicago is a heavily unionized city and union contracts escalate with the minimum wage. Not ‘unexpected’ at all.

Rahm Emmanuel is the reason we are having such protests...remember his infamous statement ‘never let a crisis go to waste’.

It’s not for 5 years....lol. I swear they are so dumb. By then 13 dollars will equal 7.25. If they were serious, they would have it start in January.

This is great news. Why don't conservatives make the argument to abolish the minimum-wage at the federal level then? If hell-holes like Chicago want to raise the minimum-wage, who cares?
Unfortunately, Chicago and other hell-holes do this to exert pressure at the federal level, so EVERYONE suffers.

This just guarantees that the businesses will move outside of Cook County.

Raising the minimum wage is only a vote getter, and these dorks know it. No one but a LIV could possibly believe they have the good of their constituents in mind.

Pikers. The West coast is shoot for $15 or possibly $25 a hour. But, on the other hand, there is probably no “living wage” possible in a place like Chicago....if you wake up in the morning and you are not dead, then you suffer through another day until you can retire and move out of state.

“Alds. Matthew OShea, 19th; Mary OConnor, 41st; Brendan Reilly, 42nd; Michele Smith, 43rd; and Tom Tunney, 44th, voted against the measure, saying they believed a higher wage could damage business profits, raise unemployment and put a dent in city tax revenues.”

After that, it will be pegged to inflation. Turn up the gain of a PA system, and you get uncontrolled squeal.
"Pegged to" are not the words needed here.
CAUSING MORE is correct.
