The article mentions nearby Clayton - FYI - that's the county seat, and a very upscale part of St. Louis County.
I’d bet dimes to donuts that someone had some serious information that would have ended the Governor’s political career, and he decided to take his chances.
‘Nice mansion you got here, Governor. Be a shame if you were forced to leave it.’
Well, his EPIC FAILURE has almost assuredly ended his career anyway. After telling the owners that there was no need to be onsite, because the guard would be there.
He’s lucky someone hasn’t shown up with tar and feathers.
I did wonder why Sharpton and Holder were Johnny on the spot so quick. Seems like the Dems have some sort of inside struggle going on.
I’ve been wondering if Ferguson wasn’t just sacrificed to make sure that all the rest of the upscale neighborhoods and businesses were spared - you know kinda like contain it and let them burn up their own neighborhood?
What career? Gov Nixon is term limited and will not be running for re-election. This was his parting shot.
He actually had national ambitions. He thought it was time for a President from the Midwest. He can kiss that goodbye.
Arkansas doesnt count?
After all the taxes and regulations, government everywhere refuses to perform it first duties . . . protect life and property.
Its a formula for dissolution.
Bad enough to leave property owners on their own, but far worse to tell them help is on the way and not produce.
It isn't unusual with a gasoline fire to contain it and let it burn out, same with racial violence in the past. Usually the neighborhoods manage to eliminate any businesses within, and then cry later about how there are no stores, "food deserts", and the like.
No one in their right mind would continue to try to operate a business where the law is openly disregarded and there will be no help forthcoming from any official sources.
The problem is that the blight will ultimately spread, not be contained.
Exactly.
He’s gone in 2016, and when marxist democrats have nothing to lose and are not facing reelection is when they are most dangerous.
Blacks put him in office twice, but the marxists have now forfeited the white vote in Missouri.
Look for that state to follow the Wisconsin model soon.
The problem is that the blight will ultimately spread, not be contained.

Or bought up cheap by some Tony Rezko type real estate developer with a plan for redevelopment.
Nope - that was just a “toon” LOL.
One more reason for guns and ammo as fast as you can get it.
I can hardly wait to see what the Pubbies in Jefferson City do with this pile of dung.
Republican controlled legislature already. The Democratic Committee Chair from Ferguson said Nixon should resign. I concur. Let Republican Peter Kinder take over.
He is negligent in protecting the civilian population and thier property, he should be forced to step down, panderer!!!!
Besides, Pres Truman was from Missouri, so it has already been done.
It wasn't necessarily blackmail from Bloomie or one of Obama's corrupt followers. It could have been a bribe from the same group. There are many possibilities. The only thing we know is that it was intentional and for unethical reasons.
Let’s see now. IIRC there were articles about a whole bunch of DHS showing up in the area taking up hotel rooms and parking places. Yet nobody has seen them actually on scene or reported about the workers being there? Which brings up the question just where are the outsider inciters/protesters coming from? That might answer why the governor will not use the NG’s. Government agencies won’t turn on each other. I believe many of the demonstrations nation wide are being directed or fueled out of DC federal offices.
Hey, you elect a DemocRAT, this is what you get. Lesson learned.
