Good. A long time coming. Allow people to defend themselves and America will be a safer place.
And, more often than not, with the desired result.
Sometimes it does make a difference who we elect.
Ohio is a “Cherry Red” State:
Ohio Senate - 23 Republican, 10 Democrat
Ohio House - 60 Republican, 39 Democrat
Governor - John Kasich (R)
Lt. Governor - (R)
Attorney General - (R)
Secretary of State - (R)
State Auditor - (R)
State Treasurer - (R)
State Supreme Court - 6 Republican, 1 Democrat
With all these Cherry Red Republican states, the push should now be for them to go “full Arizona” with their gun rights.
Full Arizona is good for several reasons.
1) The only substantial gun law in Arizona is that felons and the mentally ill can’t have guns. Some felons can get their rights restored by a judge two years after their probation ends. Mentally ill means diagnosed, seriously mentally ill.
2) Licenses are free, if you want one. You only might need one in traveling to a state with reciprocity, except as a souvenir.
3) The big one. The state government saves a whole lot of money and labor by doing this.
4) It demonstrates that government *does not* have to regulate and over-regulate everything. That less government is often better, even a lot better.
Now this is what a GOP majority is supposed to do and that is to start peeling back excessive government overreach. Thankfully, not everyone in the Buckeye State is a cowering, inept bought off politician. Know what we mean Speaker Bonehead?
My copy of the Constitution must be a misprint. In my copy, the Second Amendment makes no mention of permits, fees, etc. associated with arms of any kind. It does say “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” All gun control laws are an infringement.
You want to impress me, give us a stand your ground law.
They use historic majorities to gain 4 hours, and let a tiny segment of the population (less than 1%) skip the process? I’m not sure what to celebrate here.
