This will not get anywhere, and he knows it, because of one guy. Joe Straus, the speaker of the Texas House, is only nominally a Republican. He became speaker with a small group of Republican liberals, and all the Democrats voting for him.

He is against any gun liberty, he is pro-abortion, he is opposed to conservative anything. And he was just reelected by an even larger minority of Republican liberals and all the Democrats again.

He is the guy preventing Texans from open carry. He is an obstacle to any substantial reform in Texas. He is a pest.

Straus lost a lot of his power base when the liberal republican Dewhurst got canned.

Straus also doesn't have Perry to support him anymore.

Straus may be a problem, but with the conservative gains in Texas, he's a smaller problem than he was.

It’s time to let the people of TX know where he stands.

“Joe Straus, the speaker of the Texas House, is only nominally a Republican. He became speaker with a small group of Republican liberals, and all the Democrats voting for him.”

Some of his “Republican liberal” buddies didn’t get reelected. We’ll see whether or not he is still the speaker when the session starts next year.

Straus, yes, but the people of TX can’t understand how he keeps a 98-seat Republican house in nominal Democrat hands.

Bingo...

Somehow I wonder about those folks in the San Antonio area that think that guy is the greatest thing since sliced bread...

Too bad the Texas GOP leadership doesn’t seem to be able to divorce themselves from this schmup...Try to get someone else in that district to pony up and challenge him for that seat...

Give someone else (a real conservative) a chance to run the show...

But hey, all those folks in S.A. and Austin have to do is sit back and watch...

There is plenty of room around the Capitol building to setup a cage, and have a few MMA bouts for some of the leadership positions...Would be very entertaining IMO...
