Brother do I hear you on that one! My Dad, one of my younger sisters and my two younger brothers are all liberals and do not allow political discussion at any time, family gatherings or just casual talking over a cup of coffee. But when Bush was in office it was open season on me. My two older brothers are conservatives however sadly it appears my oldest brother is really a RINO. It’s getting to the point, with the exception of my one other older brother, where I really don’t bother with them much at all anymore.

My family is crazier than yours. I witnessed in disbelief as they argued who should be the first female president. Some said Hillary Clinton, some said Michelle Obama. Michelle? Of course I asked what qualified Michelle to be POTUS and the only answer I got was that because of my hatred of her husband I wouldn't understand. Right. Not willing to let them off the hook that easily, I said so there is nothing you can tell me that you think qualifies Michelle Obama to be president? Their response was to tell me they are not going to debate politics with me.

I have some liberal acquaintances who like to try to argue with talking points and left wing sound bites instead of reasoned positions.

I have a 'fire for effect' tactic that always infuriates them. I ask what the "transformation of America" they voted for is going to look like - what kind of rules do they want to make for me and my family to lie under? They babble and contort and say I'm not real. But, I know when they are alone with their thoughts they sometimes wonder how badly they have been used and what kind of fools they are.
