To me, there isn’t a single problem with “US boots on the ground”. Those boots have consistently proven time and again that when they are given a clear objective, competent leadership and the choice to execute that mission as they best see fit, they always succeed.
It is when you have ridiculous rules of engagement, politically driven goals and misapplication of capability and force (e.g., using those boots to combat Ebola in Africa), and a command structure riddled with political meddling, they are forced to fail.
Frankly, under Obama, or any of his legacy ghouls, I wouldn’t advise or approve of ANY of my children or grandchildren being fodder for political suicide.
Obama or Obusha, they all play a game of limited no-win wars in the Korea and Vietnam traditions.
Obama had decided to keep over 10,000 boots on the ground in Afghanistan after all the hoopla about “ending the war”.
Bush went into the Afghan thing and Obama is now trying to get “peace” with the Taliban and pull out.
Pakistan created the Taliban and Al-Quaeda is rooted in Saudi Arabia.
These nations were not dealt with after 9/11/2001 like Japan and Germany were dealt with after December 7, 1941.
Republicans and Democrats do not fight wars to win anymore.
The Rand Paul’s of the world argue we should not get into these fake half-fast wars to begin with.
Peter Hitchens notes the current “war” with ISIS is just a prelude to them being negotiated with.
This kind of stuff with fighting followed by peace talks instead of total victory has been the reality of “wars” waged by Republicans and Democrats ever since Korea.
