The ever-growing list of Bill Cosby accusers has just grown by one, with model Beverly Johnson telling Vanity Fair that Cosby drugged her in the mid-'80s.

The drugging method seems to be the most effective for rapists, in that it causes the most confusion and insecurity in the victims, and leads to a smaller percentage of reporting to police than the more violent rapes do where the rapist uses a weapon, or a beat down.

“”Typically what we see is people who are using drugs to commit a sexual offense are doing so because obviously that increases the vulnerability of the victim and decreases the resistance,” Dr. Nancy Zarse, a professor in the department of forensic psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, said. “The drugs also distort people’s memories ... so they’re afraid to come forward: ‘Did that just happen, did he do that, would he do that?’ Especially if a person is powerful, they may be worried that they won’t be believed.”

The National Crime Victims Research & Treatment Center study reached a similar conclusion: “One of the more striking findings of this study was that only 16 percent of all rapes were reported to law enforcement. Notably, victims of drug-facilitated or incapacitated rape were somewhat less likely to report to the authorities than victims of forcible rape.””

True story, I know it’s just hearsay to post it here, but it’s true. In the 1980s I knew a custom yacht and airplane painter. High end, really an artist. He showed me an album of his work, something he’d show prospective clients. Some photos showed a plane or jet belonging to Cosby.

What floored me, what I never forgot, was that this custom painter said that he was around Cosby during this process (several weeks total) long enough to discover that he was a true “Jekyll and Hyde,” with a private personality 180* opposite his public persona. According to this man, Cosby in private was a screamer and a belittler, constantly humiliating his family and “posse.” In addition, he was vocally anti-white, demanding to know, for example, why a white painter was hired to do his plane. In private, according to this painter, Cosby was a monster.

Put him in front of a camera, and he became the lovable Cos. But off camera, a monster, at least in how he treated those around him. I’ve been waiting 25 years for these shoes to finally drop. The painter had no reason to lie, and I just stored away the memory. Now the shoe has dropped.

Just stuff them in a cab all woozy, the world a rushing blur.

That appears to have been Cosby’s M.O. post rape.

What a guy. Drugging girls with Quaaludes was probably a trick he learned from his good friend Hugh Hefner at the Playboy mansions in Chicago and L.A., where he was a frequent weeks-at-a-time guest....even while he was married.

Hefner passed out Quaaludes like candy to get the girls “in the mood.”

Well, this one is different from the other accusations.

This one claims that she was drugged, but didn’t claim she was raped or molested. But like the other accusers, this took place a quarter century ago and there is no police report or medical evidence.

One young black male he’s not been critical of is the kenyan. Indeed he’s had his lips firmly clenched on the kenyan’s giggle pin for years.

I don't know

I always thought rape was a power trip, not a sexual one.

If a guy drugs a girl and she is weakened and unable to resist or defend herself, isn't that a little like necrophilia ?

All this Cosby talk has us defining and redefining words of our vocabulary ... and the best way to confuse people is to confound their language (The Tower Of Babel ... those that don't know history .. repeat it)

There aren't too many here in FR that would disagree that the attack on our kids in government school is primarily of language, definition and the existence or non-excistence of events or people.

The democrats from clinton forward have been purposefully (imo) foisted on America nothing but questions regarding their American identity to the point where we may even doubt our national identity/heritage.

We used to be the ugly American because we knew who we were.

There were several beautiful black girls who worked on the Cosby Show. Have any of them come forward, either to defend Cosby or to say he did it to them, too?

Hmmm. Maybe those chickens are coming home to roost!
A lot of high profile people tend to have well honed, compartmental personalities, as this serves them well in the moment.

http://www.ijreview.com/2014/11/204740-standup-bit-bill-cosbys-1969-comedy-album-adds-validity-numerous-allegations/

With each passing day, the family man, funny guy image Bill Cosby cultivated in the 1980s continues to crumble, each story chipping away at the man who changed television forever.

The latest piece of evidence almost functions as a confession – a confession that fills the void of the currently tight-lipped Cosby.

After several accusations have resurfaced, and all-new accusations come to light about Bill Cosby’s questionable interactions with young women, a comedy album released in 1969 is doing him no favors.

The album, literally titled “It’s true! It’s true!” includes a three-minute track entirely about a date rape drug one slips into a woman’s drink nicknamed “Spanish Fly.”

First, Cosby describes the drug.

“Only when you’re 13 till when you’re married, guys standing around talking about Spanish Fly.”

He details who to target.

“Well there’s this girl, Crazy Mary, you put some in her drink and she ‘WAHHHHAAA’!”

Initially, it sounds like something of a joke amongst 13-year-olds, not to be taken seriously. But then:

“Go to a party, see five girls standing alone, ‘Boy, if I had a whole jug of Spanish Fly, I’d light that corner up over there. Ha aha ha ha…’”

Cosby then discusses working on I Spy in the 1960s and learning that production was headed to Spain for an episode. This excited him, as he could finally get his hands on some Spanish Fly. He assumed co-star Robert Culp knew nothing about Spanish Fly, but he had.

Essentially, Cosby’s commentary on the subject revolves around the unattainable Spanish Fly, its mystery and apparent non-existence. The main punchline of the bit involves their Spanish taxi driver asking if they had heard of “American Fly.”

While standup comedy is often exaggerated or even entirely made up “real-life” situations, Cosby talks about the drug with admiration, never acknowledging slipping the drug into “Crazy Mary’s” drink and having one’s way with her would be rape.

The words are especially concerning, considering a recent accusation that involves a drugged bloody mary cocktail and took place in 1969 – the year the comedy album was released.

The allegations altogether are a very tough pill to swallow, partially because Cosby’s impact on American culture was and is massive.

The Cosby Show, which was initially rejected by ABC because “they felt that America was not ready to accept the concept of an intact, black middle-class family,” altered the public perception of what a black family could be, and opened the doors for several successful TV shows featuring black families (See: Family Matters, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Bernie Mac Show Everybody Hates Chris, and many more).

If these consistent and numerous allegations turn out to be true, Bill Cosby’s legacy will be ruined. When forming your own opinion on the allegations, it’s important to separate the extremely positive impact he had on American television from his personal life.

Of course the fact a married man with young children was regularly at The Playboy Mansion should have sent out a Red Flag right there.

If anyone, I'd suspect Lisa Bonet to have something to say ... one way or another.
I vaguely remember she was fired from the Cosby show becasuse of professional differences or something like that
She always struck me (personally and in character) as the rebellious child to the Huxtable aura.

If you read the accounts and violence involved in some of those drugging rapes, the women were pretty roughly used, and felt bruised and battered after being used in the semi conscious or unconscious state.

Control over young women, preferably and in most cases white, seems to be Cosby’s thing.

I guess you read post 9, now look at this bizarre behavior.

“Female staffers at “The Late Show With David Letterman” are breathing a collective sigh of relief they don’t have to deal with an upcoming Bill Cosby appearance. A source close to the show tells Confidenti@l that the disgraced comic had some truly bizarre backstage requests.

“He’d include as a request, before he arrived, that the young girls, interns and assistants, all had to gather around in the green room backstage and sit down and watch him eat curry,” our stunned source explains. “No one would say anything, and he would sit silently eating and make us watch and want us to watch.””

“While our source adds that everyone hated the odd preshow ritual, they were asked by producers to do it because “that’s what he (Cosby) wanted.””

The waitress on that show filed a police report on Cosby, in 2000.
