Senator: Bush misled nation in run-up to Iraq war
AP ^ | December 11, 2014 | DEB RIECHMANN

The chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee released new information on Thursday that he claims is evidence that the Bush administration misled the nation in the run-up to the war in Iraq.

In a speech on the Senate floor, retiring Sen. Carl Levin, a Democrat, outlined a 2003 CIA cable that warns George W. Bush administration officials against making references to claims that Mohammad Atta — the man who led the Sept. 11 hijackers — met with an Iraqi intelligence officer in the Czech Republic before the Sept. 11, 2011, attacks. Levin claims Bush officials used the unconfirmed meeting to link Iraq to Sept. 11 to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Hillary also said (February 2002) from the floor of the Senate “BUSH KNEW!” (about the 9-11 attacks in advance).

"The question is knowing what we know now, should we have invaded Iraq back in ‘03?"

That is absolutely NOT the question raised by this article.

Hey, that’s great Carl! Listen, while you’re in the mood...what’s the deal with Benghazi? What did the Turks have to do with moving Libyan arms to Syrian rebels? Who came up with the stupid video? Why couldn’t a single element of the American war machine be mustered to deal with a firefight that went on for hours? How many multiple stand down orders must have been issued to keep our personnel from acting? Who issued those orders?...Wait! Wait!...What’d I say?

The Iraq war was about the elites punishing anyone who dared try to assassinate the anointed. (and I shook daddy Bushes hand in 1980).

We never really had to invade Iraq. Saddam Hussein and his family had agreed to leave Iraq for a life of exile in Libya prior to the invasion. History will show that Bush invaded the wrong country. Imagine if eighteen Saudi terrorists who were financed by wealthy Saudis who in turn had close contacts with Saudi intelligence and prominent Saudi citizens and royals, and were inspired by the Wahhabi that in turn is financed by the Saudi government had attacked Shanghai, killed over three thousand Chinese and caused over three trillion dollars worth of direct and indirect damage to the Chinese economy. Do you think the Chinese would have attacked Iraq? Or would the Chinese increase tolls and fares on Shanghai’s transportation facilities to pay for the damages or allow construction of a victory mosque? Bush made a monumental historic error that not only resulted in two quagmires, the squandering of over a trillion dollars and the death, physical and psychological maiming of nearly thirty thousand brave young Americans but made possible the disastrous Obama era.

Let me see...I believe it was the Clinton admin that passed the Iraq Liberation act to remove Saddam “by any means necessary.” By any means I take that to mean going in and taking him out if necessary. Levin voted for it. I want to hear Levin explain himself out of that.

Assad flew hundreds of Sunni jihadists into Damascus and escorted them into Iraq to kill Americans. If anything he’s getting the blowback from all those jihadists he supported back when we were in Iraq.

Assad supports and trained Hezbollah fighters and funnelled billions of dollars of Iranian weaponry and rockets into Lebanon to kill Israelis. Hamas also had its headquarters in Damascus, directing terrorist attacks into Israel only a few miles away from Bashar’s palace. That why Israel has bombed Assad repeatedly and Netanyahu supports his downfall.

Leaving Assad alone is one thing, helping him is out of the question.

My big mistake was believing that Bush, Cheney and Rummy knew the hell what they were doing when they told us that invading and occupying Iraq was a necessity.

It was all going to be easy and cheap, the exact opposite of reality.

By 2006 I realized that they didn’t have a clue.

However, Obama owns Iraq now, And the economy. And health care/

Not without an official declaration of war.

The United States cannot long endure on never-ending war footing.
