Kevin McCarthy of Thousand Oaks, California, was surprised last spring, when he learned his family doctor of 14 years could not accept the Blue Shield insurance he'd purchased under Obamacare.
He said he was "outraged" because when he was shopping for his policy, Blue Shield confirmed his doctor was covered.
"We were duped," McCarthy said. "Hoodwinked is another good term."
Here's what happened. Insurance companies -- to save money -- are quietly selling what are called "narrow networks." They sharply restrict the number of doctors and hospitals people can see. In some cases, people may be limited to 30 percent or less of the doctors and hospitals nearby.

When the PPACA was essentially written BY THE HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY, and through crony capitalism efforts by the Democrats, did you expect those companies to do anything other than increase profit?
Where are the restrictions and guidelines on the insurance companies for WHAT, WHERE, WHY, WHO, WHEN and how much both long and short term that favor the patient, if this was supposedly the Patient Protection ACA?

Cash paying patients have a very wide network. (Just pining on the way it used to be).
Complaining about Obamacare not being as promised is like complaining that the designer handbag and speakers that “fell of the back of the truck” turned out not to be the real thing. When you buy from a crook, it’s your fault if you get taken.
I was helping an unemployed friend search for insurance plans on “the marketplace” website the other day. You can do a geographical search of network providers for these CommieCare plans. Doing a wide search brough up zilch in general practitioners, least of all his own doctor.
I would think that folks might realize that the best way to get such info is to actually ask their doctor - haven’t yet met a doctor who wasn’t aware if he was covered by a certain carrier...

Of the 2,400 pages of ACA, aka, ObamaCare legislation, it can be condensed to 4 sentences......as humorous as this sounds... every last word of it is absolutely TRUE!
1. In order to insure the uninsured, we first have to uninsure the insured.
2. Next, we require the newly uninsured to be re-insured.
3. To re-insure the newly uninsured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured.
4. The extra charges are required so that the original insured, who became uninsured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original uninsured can be insured, which will be free of charge to them.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is called “redistribution of wealth” or, by its more common name, SOCIALISM.
Would you rather hand over cash or a credit card or pay with EBT card?
In the health care realm, handing over an obamacare card is like paying with an EBT card. Except it is an extremely expensive EBT card to the possessor. And the medical practice that accepts it may never get paid unlike paying with a Medicare card.
