A hostage has been forced to hold up an Islamic State flag in the window of a shop in Martin Place that is currently under siege.
It is believed there are 12 hostages in the store and an ISIS flag has been placed in the window.
Martin Place is the main financial area of the Sydney CBD.

Our CNN is now up with an ongoing feed to the Lindt..finally. Fox and Al Jazeera had blips and comments, but this is first real constant news on this situation.
It’s 1:10 AM here Monday morning...I think it’s probably Monday evening there?

That’s one of the last two. ANd looking at them running live, I am pretty sure they are escaping, not being released. How I don’t know, but these women were expecting to be shot in the back as they moved.

Your photos are starting to suggest LEO is waving folks back inside.... snipers suspected? The waiter and the guy in the blue blazer are here looking at the cop... the previous pic showed them suddenly bolting for the door while the cop held pistol cover for them.

Just a different angle I think - he’s waving them out of the street to stand behind other police officers who are behind him - can’t be seen because of the door.

They said they’re not sure if these people were simply hiding and trying to find a way out of where they were....or actually ones being held.
