This time of oil abundance would be a wonderful chance to sh!tcan E10 fuels...but since it’s pushed by the ag lobby, both sides of the aisle are afraid to attack it.

When did ABC get into satire?

I’d ROFLMAO about this “study” or “scientific revelation” except there is one huge glaring problem. While I would love to forward this article to the liberal green peace hippies and Prius drivers, we must remain intellectually honest. The premise of the study is completely false, so any analysis comparing what is more or less to “cause deaths” based on it, is also bogus. It would be like debating who moves faster, Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. If a study proved one or another, I’m sure you could find a liberal to believe it.

But we are FReepers.

And then there's the fires....

And then there's the problem when there's an accident and the special precautions that have to be taken.

Acura finally shipped their 2014 RLX Hybrid. I've driven one, but they are pretty rare.

It is no slouch -- off the starting line it adds the torque of 3 different electric motors to the 300+ HP engine. Like the predecessor models, it has all-wheel drive, but the rear wheels are electrically driven. There's no mechanical coupling of the gasoline engine to the rear wheels.

It also uses the electric drive on the rear to create drag on the inside wheel and drive the outside wheel when turning, even when not accelerating. As a result, the car feels much more nimble than its 4,000 lbs.

MPG is 28/32: not stellar, but a substantial improvement over the non-hybrid version's 20/31. At current gas prices, I'm not sure it's worth the additional cost for gas mileage alone, but there are a number of other features unique to the hybrid version.

An electric car is basically a coal fired car.

I tried to tell the environmental wacko’s exactly this when they originally started pushing the whole electric car thing and they didn’t want to listen.

Oh well, one thing you can count on, the left ALWAYS getting it wrong.

This study and ones like it assume gasoline powered car’s pollution starts at the tailpipe. It does not. Gasoline itself requires 6-9 kilowatts of electricity to refine plus diesel to transport the gasoline from refinery to gasoline station. Then electricity to pump from gas station tank into car tanks.

“Well to wheel” electric cars are always more efficient and less polluting. A little or a lot depending on sources of electricity for cars and refineries.

And electric cars don’t support the global price of oil. Which support Czar Vladimir, King Abdullah,Caliph Ibrahim,Ayatollah Khamenei, and President-for-Life Maduro.

“But if the power supply comes from natural gas, the all-electric car produces half as many air pollution health problems as gas-powered cars do.”

OK, that makes sense to me but what if cars were fueled by natural gas. I suspect that would be better than natural gas fired turbines supplying electricity in order to charge car batteries.

We have a near inexhaustible supply of clean burning natural gas. However, the oil companies are interested in selling gasoline, so natural gas filling stations are few and far between.
