The grandfather, George Wyant, said his 14-year-old grandson shot the intruder.
"It’s not something you can be proud of. But, I’m happy the way it turned out. Because my wife is getting over an illness," Wyant said.Not something to be proud of? He saved his grandmother! What's not to be proud of? I sure as heck would be proud of that young man!

When I was 10 I knew how to shoot..and the proper handling of guns.
Seems like the grandson knew this too.
Nobody had any problem with me having my own gun when I was 10. Had a single shot bolt action .22 rifle. Still have that gun. Shot a butt load of squirrels, rabbits, etc.. with it too, between 10 and 15 yrs of age.
