You reveal Your glory to us every day, but sometimes we are not paying attention. Who can rise up out of bed and behold the sun without considering the sun’s Maker? Who can look at the face of a newborn baby and not wonder at the intricate beauty of the Creator? Lord, may Your glory be revealed to us each and every day, and may we behold Your glory. Help us to end this constant focus on things of this world and consider You and Your heavens---the work of Your fingers and hands. Lord, remind us of the amazing power of Your love for us, and the eternal Gift of our Savior.
Lord, help our military men and women and all our first responders to put their trust in You alone. During this time in history when they may feel little support from their nation, help them to know that You are there for them always----even unto the end of the age. You will never leave them nor forsake them. You will strengthen them, You will help them, You will uphold them with Your righteous right hand.
Father, return all of us to You. Help us to forget about the wrapping paper and the ribbons and bows, the cookies, the trimmings on the tree. Help us to remember You during this Christmas season, Lord. You are the only One worthy of our praise and our focus. As You reveal Your glory unto us, please help us to receive the blessing of paying attention to You. And may Your Name be glorified both now and evermore. Jesus, Lord of All. Amen.
