BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police are looking for the suspect who beat a pizza delivery man to death at the District at the Summit apartment complex on Sunday night.

Police say a Domino's delivery worker was beaten in the head with an object and died from blunt force trauma.

His body was discovered in a breezeway in the 900 block of Summit Place around 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

The Jefferson County coroner's office identified the victim as Najeh Sulieman Masaid, 63. Birmingham police say Masaid is from another country.

Officials believe the apartment Masaid was delivering the pizza to was vacant.

“This is a very nice location. We have delivery drivers all over the place, very nice, quiet, safe area. Very beautiful area. So it's kind of unusual,” Birmingham police Lt. Sean Edwards said.

This was an interesting turn. Payback perhaps...

Taking out a pizza delivery guy? Now there’s a statement. “I’m too stupid to realize this is some poor schmuck just trying to get through life.”

In 2002, I survived a pretty bad criminal assault while working at Domino’s. Two cracked ribs, a broken wrist and 30 staples in my head.

May the Lord bless Mr. Masaid and may He rest in peace.

And may the depraved persons who did this get the justice their deserve: swift, severe and certain.

I live about 5 minutes from both that Domino’s and the Summit Shopping center. Rest in peace to the dear man, he delivered to us many times. Summit apartments are some of the nicest residential in Birmingham and it is pressed up against the Summit shopping center which is probably the most profitable shopping center in town. Coincidentally, there was a “Black Lives Matter” protest on the 280 corridor on Friday, that was originally planned as an attempt to shut 280 down. That portion of 280 is mainly white and fairly wealthy. The protests around the rest of the country have largely bypassed Birmingham and this reeked of an amateur attempt to start a Ferguson here in town by causing a conflict with the white man. If you follow the link below, you will see pictures of the Summit sign. Murder happened up the hill, about a 5 minute walk (on a separate night of course).

“Police are investigating his death as a homicide.”

“When you have to state something like this, what does that say about your readers?”

Low information, Dimocrat, biped humanoids? The same group that requires a warning of “not meant for human consumption” on a container of kerosene?

Does Alabama still have the death penalty? Time to find out and get Old Sparky back into shape.

Only way I’d even consider that job is wearing a shoulder holster with my G17 in it.

I'd go with a holster molded into the underside of the insulated delivery pouch. It'd make a nice handle.

Couple of big ol’ football player looking guys. One black, one hispanic. Guess they thought it would be fun to jump the pizza guy. They got more of a fight than they expected, so they finally ran off.

So, in effect, what you’re talking about is a Zytel holster on the UNDERSIDE of that velcro’d red insulated carrier “oven”.....NEAT!

One hand under (on the gun) and the other free to take cash.....
