Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered his cabinet ministers to stop trading using the Russian rouble. Instead, the country - who is one of Russia’s closest allies - will trade only in dollars or euros, after Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted on Thursday his country may be on the verge of a two year recession.

“Lately I keep hearing that the Russian rouble is falling and that is 40% of our export market and we stand to carry losses. So what can we do, when this is what our partner and that is what the situation is in Russia and in Ukraine, they are also our partners,” Lukashenko told his cabinet of ministers in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Thursday night.

“The set objective is to trade with Russia not in roubles but in dollars,” Lukashenko said. “That is how we will pay pay the Russian federation for energy, not in roubles but in dollars.”

It will inflate dollar usage around Russia. Probably within six months....everyone will carry dollars on them....instead of Russian currency.

By the way, remember how the Putinistas told us that once Winter hit the Ukranians would have to do whatever Putin’s latest ukase was to survive. Seems even mother nature isn’t on Putin’s side either this year.

Winter here near the western border of Poland has been quite mild thus far; of course, we still have January and February to get through, but so far, it’s been pretty mellow. We had an ice storm roar through the country about three weeks, but that only lasted a couple of days.

I’ve been able to line-dry clothes. In December. That’s a surprise. The other day, we had a daytime high of about 51 degrees F, and that’s actually warm for this time of year.

God, who orders all human affairs and natural events, is not on Putin's side. It is difficult to discern the plan of God here, but it's clear that part of it is to: make Ukraine a nation; drive the Russkies to despair, as none of their best laid plans work out as they expected.

We had the worst winter of my lifetime last year, worse than the infamous blizzard of 1978 even. Worse yet, my city was declared as having the number 1 worst winter in America last year. It was bad. Everyone was saying this year would be even worse and it looked like that might be the case initially but here we are coming up on Christmas and I’m still driving around in my vette. knock on wood. I seriously can’t handle another winter like last year. I’m about to have a panic attack just thinking about it.
