I walked home for lunch, ate, walked back to school and then walked home again. Guess what” I was not fat. Mom was home and fed us lunch. Go figure.

My grade school was exactly like that too. Plus, it was a 7 block walk. Everyday. I used to watch the "Dick Van Dyck" show during my meal.

Gosh how old are you?

I did the same. was about 2 miles each way, Both uphill. -15 degrees. Wore our shows 'round our necks to save'em for school. Hostile Indians takin' pot shots. Had to shoot my pony. Things was tough.

Not to mention, you had to be on time gettin' back for the afternoon session. Gosh, how did we survive?
