f your TV provider is satellite provider Dish Network, you weren't watching Fox News Channel or Fox Business this weekend. On Saturday, after Fox and Dish Network failed to agree on a new contract, (link) This affected Dish's approximately 14 million subscribers.
This halts ongoing negotiations between Dish and Fox over the last several weeks, and now, things are getting ugly, with both sides blaming the other. According to Dish, Fox News attempted to increase fees for sports and entertainment channels during the contract's negotiation, which did not include those channels.
"It's like we're about to close on a house and the realtor is trying to make us buy a new car as well," said Warren Schlichting, Dish's senior vice president of programming. "Fox blacked out two of its news channels, using them as leverage to triple rates on sports and entertainment channels that are not in this contract."

Don’t care about:
OReily
Geraldo
Morning blah blah
Hanity fluff
Only really care about the finance stuff and even that was mostly out of date info.
I think cafeteria plans will eventually be available from most providers. It’s a question of how long will the current system hold together.
I could dump about 200 channels and just do with the ESPN channels, NBCSports, and FoxSports 1&2.
Is it really just money, or is time slotting or something part of it ?
Didn’t Dish also just lose CBS?
Is there any type or class action suit against DISH for not providing the programs in the contract we’ve signed up to get?
Dish already has dropped CNN — not that it was a loss
FOX posters on FB are encouraging people to change providers
Notice the article starts and ends with Dish’s point of view...we can guess what side AOL is on (not that anyone cares about AOL anymore!)
Of Possible Interest to the ping lists.

Only thing worth seeig on Fox news is her.
Dish, like other providers, usually don’t have a choice in what they offer. The providers say that if the provider wants to have, say, TNT, they have to offer a bunch of other crap no one wants, like TBS. Or if you want ESPN, you also have to buy ESPN classic.
I work at a cable provider, so I see this stuff all the time. My company lost CBS for 2 months. That wasn’t much fun.
I hate to say I don’t watch much FOX News anyway. If I want to see a bunch of people sitting around a table and yelling at each other I’ll go visit my mom. I don’t need to watch it on TV.
Aww, FoxSnooze isn’t on Dish anymore? Who knew. Between Shemp, Ted Baxter, Whorealdo, et al, might as well be watching Comedy Central or CNN.
Wonder if CNN ever came back to Dish? Yeah, there it is. Dish’s welfare program for mismanaged broadcast networks.
I have been watching CNN since Dish decided to screw with us subscribers and see that one of the former FOX news readers is over there now.
Alisyn Camerota Joins CNN as Anchor
I also saw Jamie Colby on CNN recently, but I see that she has a new show scheduled upcoming on FBN.
I do/will miss Special Report (only news I even watched)but I was cancelling Dish anyway next month when my contract is up.
I can get Special Report, slice/dice version (good enuf), free, over my Internet TV-XBMC.
Andera is lovely to look at...but getting a little tired of another beauty, Guilfoyle swinging her leg for camera take-away.....Harris Faulkner, love that name, is another very attractive woman but her short skirts are a testament to the fact that women over over 35, should not dress like women in their early 20’s...it is embarrassing for the viewer and I suspect the hostess cum anchor also...if these women want to be taken seriously, they should dress more appropriately....imho of course....
Just like the cable and home sat companies want to force you into a bundle of channels, the big name content providers insist on bundling unwanted channels with their popular channels.
Bundling is an evil, wasteful practice. Even supermarkets are using this tactic more and more.
Obviously no longer “available.” No the big ring on her hidden left finger.
The problem, as I understand it, is that a satellite only has so many transponders. Each transponder can be used to broadcast one or many channels, so they are limited to as many bundles and there are transponders. That’s why you can’t get channels a la cart, and of course any entity is going to maximize the profit from each bundle.
That’s alright, she’s still the only thing worth seeing on Fox.
But their are still other fish in the sea.
Like Dana P. Rino for obvious reasons /gagbarfbleghck!
YOWSER!!
