The day of the vote I called my Congressman, Lamar Smith. Don't vote for the cloture. don't vote for the bill. I won't vote for the bill his office said. He just voted for cloture and the got permission from Boehner to vote against the bill. Fooled you again, didn't they.

During the last presidential election cycle, Sarah Palin preparations for the Republican conventio went from great to non-existent -- She was cut out of the GOP convention.

Since then, I've had no use for those involved in railroading Sarah.

They lterally shot the best Republican ever in the foot.

IMO, what they have done since the election is the final evidence needed to prove that the republic is indeed fini.

I will never vote for a democrat, including the ones with R after their name. Who does that leave me to vote for?

I’m staying as a Republican, so I can FIGHT the RINOs, instead of letting them win. If they win, it will because of us CONSERVATIVES leaving and liberals will win. What we need to to go and join the local party and fight from within.

Well then in many states you cannot pick your candidate for the general election.

Ronald Reagan had it right: change the party, don’t leave it.

Chris Christie is a traitor in my book. He stabbed Tom Tancredo in the back in the Colorado Primary election with a lying smear add. He probably cost the GOOP the governor of Colorado in the election.

Cory Gardner has backed off of going up against the demoRats and has all but moved in with them.

Slowly, slowly, some are waking up.

I gave up on much of the GOP/Republicans during the Hastert/Lott/Frist era and GWB’s turn to the left shortly after the 2004 election.

Rush L gave up on them — quit carrying the water — around 2006. Mark L is one inch away from doing something.

It was the GOP backstabbing of Palin that first and foremost ended my lifelong self-identification as a Republican, and destroyed any sense of kinship I felt towards the Party. All the ensuing shenanigans from Boehner/McConnell/Rove, and the nomination of Romney, have just solidified all this.

Used to look forward to and watch the GOP convention every election cycle for decades. Couldn’t get myself to even watch a minute of it last time. Hardly watch any ‘political’ type talk-shows anymore, as I no longer care or trust what any of the so-called conservative talking-heads have to say. It all just makes me sick.

I held my nose to vote for Jorge Busho’s second term. I held my nose and repressed the urge to vomit when I voted for McLame. That’s the last time I voted.

The only time we could see a third party taking hold is if GOP win the next presidential election and we have someone like Palin run against GOP. We could call this new party USIP which stand for US Independence Party

The Republican left has one political enemy, ...conservatives. My response is that I will vote for whomever I want to vote for, and give money to whomever I want to give to. The lesser of two evils argument is growing irrelevant as the degrees of left become indistinguishable. GOPe, or Democrats, what is the difference? ...Support conservatives, and if they morph into leftist Urchins, find different conservatives to vote for.

No one who has an understanding of how the left won is going to choose third party over throwing out the RINO’s. First, until you have the power to dethrown them you have to build a power base. Second, if your power base is too weak to dethrown them then you need to work on destroying them with slander, scandal and innuendo (not surprising, the left will help you because most of them don’t understand either). Third, you have to understand Alynski in his statement, it’s not the power you have, it’s the power they think you have.
Politics is a blood sport and not for purists of any stripe.

"After six years of Obama’s tenure, the president’s approval rating is just above 40 percent. He has lost more congressional seats during his administration than has any president in over a half-century. His party is in shambles, with historic midterm losses in state legislatures and governorships."

Well, not exactly. While the dems may be in a bit of disarray, the establishment republicans are right there to prop them up.

Their allegiance is to the beltway, not the nation!

People remaining in the Republican party are as much a threat to America as any liberal. They empower evil. Period. Excuses are just that.

As for Levin, he’s as big a fraud as ‘conservatives remaining in the Republican party. If he was a conservative, he’d do...not talk.

I would hope by this point most of the silent types on FR have had a belly full of these pieces of garbage doing everything in their power to prevent the formation of a legit alternative to the GOP. Speak up. TELL them to go to Redstate or somewhere else Republicans gather. We will NEVER get our act together until we rid ourselves of weak sisters.
