The kids are our future, he said in comments after the press conference. This criminal justice system treats them like theyre a problem to be penned up and locked up and thrown away.
Organizers encouraged listeners to join a protest on New Years Eve, planned to reach Times Square and disrupt the ball drop at midnight.
Members of the organization stood behind the speakers silently holding a long roll of unfurled orange mock-police tape that stretched for nearly 100 feet. On it were printed the names of unarmed black and Latino men killed by the police in New York City and across the country: Michael Brown killed in Ferguson. Sean Bell killed in Queens. Eric Garner in Staten Island.

I’d be okay if the cops got a couple cheap shots in also.

Look at those white guilted liberals in that pic. Pull the police protection from them and when one of their little beloved feral miscreants goes off on them they will soon be singing a different tune—and it won’t be rap.

Sooner or later this will get really ugly. A million people crowded into a few blocks, and a thousand thugs an hooligans, what could go wrong?

“... how much has he coordinated with the organizers..”
Here’s an idea for the organizers: “Center for the Reform of Abuse by Police” (CRAP).

Any one of them could have been 0bola’s son. :-(

I can think of other things they can do too, which they probably have thought of. They are vile creatures.

Is there a way to position Al Sharpton directly under the giant New Year’s ball so that it can drop on his head?

I’ll gladly enjoy the night from rural Texas.

There is no higher cop-per-square-foot ratio anywhere thanTimes Square on New Years Eve.

My daughter went to that one year and she said it was just packed tight and you basically had to stay in one place the whole time. She said she is glad she did it but would not go again.
That nicely sums up the one time I went there as well. They basically set up troughs. They run people down one trough and when it fills up they close it off and open up the next one over.
I do not see how they could get in there unless De Balsio puts them in there.
I'd think that the system for filling up Times Square would work to the protesters' advantage. Divide into small cells and disperse the cells randomly into the groups being run into the troughs. Stay organized, coordinate bursts of protest activity via cell phone, text messaging, etc.
Basically do a flash mob within a really big mob.
If you do it right, you can create multiple and seemingly random points of protest, possibly so many that the NYPD can't deploy/redeploy/reredeploy fast enough to counter them. AND chances are pretty good that even a few protesters can get the people around them spooled up in support.
THEN throw a small number of anarchists into the mix who are trained in how to turn things violent.

I’m glad to hear that, thank you.
