The TPP is not about lowering US Tariffs. It is about wealth redistribution. It puts the economic control in the hands of global business cronies and pretty much gives away the store, including intellectual property rights, patents and mineral rights.

The reason that Obama is pushing Republicans to give him Fast Track is because the Democrats and Unions hate it and Fadt Track would anger the unions and Democrat base and put all the blame on Republicans, while Democratscwould reap all the financial benefits of the crony partnerships. It’s a trick, and Boehner is dumb enough to fall for it. Rand Paul, too.

If I were President, Obama would be in jail, Boner in rehab, tariffs at 20% and the borders sealed shut.

Printed letters to Congressmen go to special postal facilities (run by the Pitney-Bowes Corporation) where they are opened and scanned into electronic formats. The original materials are destroyed.

The electronic copies of such items are made available to the Congressional staff of the representative to whom they are addressed. Sometimes the staff will read them, and sometimes they will respond to them - with a form letter. It is not a high priority task.

"Grass roots" campaign letters have exactly zero effect on Congress. The staff does not even bother to count them.

Phone calls to their offices are considered a nuisance. Staffers are trained to be polite and sympathetic to callers. That is all they really can do. The lobbyists with any real influence have direct lines or private cell phone numbers that they call.

Recurrent campaign donations in the high 6-figures is what really gets their attention.

Also howling mobs outside their offices, carrying torches.

They need to hear from their constituents:

If you’re a tightwad like me skip the letter and send’em an email. Maybe several.

If you have time, get on the phone and tell them what you really think. It Cathartic, I think I spelled that right...

All others, box it up and send it certified receipt. An empty box will be fine unless there’s something else you want to donate. Use your imagination, just don’t cross the line.

It Cathartic = It’s cathartic

Also, got an old brick laying around the house or garden? Paint it gold and send it to them. Maybe they’ll catch a clue. Unless of course, that would cross the line...

It is true that any “successors” to Boehner and McC will also be treacherous turncoats.

$30...Shame.

It is a shame. This allows Boehner and the rest to brush it aside as just another crank scheme from WND.

Call your congressman on your own. And donate the cash to FR if you want to help make a difference.

It’s a palace when the king (Boehner) gets to make up all the rules to ensure his own power forever.

Anybody Republican in congress who even HINTS at replacing Boehner will lose power, committee leadership, etc.

My hope is this would work, my sense is it will not, we already know they care not what “we the people” think, they ignored us too many times not to be cynical, however if he is dumped my enthusiasm scale will sky rocket.

Never, ever, ever trust a man that wears expensive suits and ties and spends all his time in a tanning booth.

"Boehner is vulnerable to palace coup..."

..... That would take co-ordination to achieve that goal .... Which just happens to be the Republicans weakest talent.

Good point.

They should have dumped him a long time ago. But the Establishment will pull out all the stops to protect their surrender leader.

Last session, it would have taken less that 20 "constitutional conservative" votes to dump him. If they'd done it then, this last outrage never would've happened

On his show, Andrew Wilkow related a story told to him by Louis Gohmert. A group conservative House members decided they weren't going to vote for Boehner and told Gohmert they were going to meet with Boehner and let him know in advance. Gohmert said "Don't tell him, just vote. He's gonna cry. Just vote." They went anyway, had their meeting, Boehner started crying, and they changed their votes in favor of Boehner.
