If this low, low oil price continues past the end of next summer, I suspect even North Dakota will start getting just a little bit hot under the collar. There may still be a need to produce oil soley for national reserves.

Which was right about what it was when Obama took office.

Watch for the politicians, both parties to raise the taxes...

This will be partially offset by the coming increase in gasoline tax here in Virginia.

Pretty soon they will start giving away cutlery and flatware like the Shell station used to when I was a kid.

And when Michele Bachmann said we could see $2.00/gal gasoline back in 2011, people were incredulous and scoffed.

Well, here it is and headed lower. What has changed since then?

Not in California. Starting January 1, 2015, California will be adding a carbon tax to each gallon of gasoline. Minimum tax will be $0.15. No one know exactly how high this tax will go.

Filled up last night for buck-eighty-eight a gallon at the BP in Lexington, Mo. By the time you guys hit $1.75 we may well be under $1.50.

According to Gas Buddy, it’s $1.75 in Lake Dallas, TX — 44 minutes ago.

There’s been a little gas war going on there: I count 3 stations there, at that price. It’s $1.75 at two more locations nearby.

I looked last weekend: the same 3 stations have been 5-10 cents below the prevailing price in this area.

We all know the negative effects of gasoline and other fuels going up sharply.
This should be a tremendously good thing for the economy.

Combined with record grain crops and much lower prices there; we should also see food price’s be more favorable on some items.
