Yes, because life would have been so much better for them had they not been purchased by American Slave owners:

1) Killed by their neighboring tribesmen (without an outlet to sell their 'merchandise', they would have just deposed of them after stealing their land and property).
or,
2) Sold to Muslims, who would have castrated the male slaves.

That rapper woman is a bit nutty to want to punish people who had nothing to do with slavery. Seems to be that she needing some form of therapy to get over her issues.
