Who Killed More People? David Duke or Al Sharpton?
Frontpage Mag ^ | 12/30/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

I don’t claim to be a Duke buff, but unlike Sharpton, the Neo-Nazi leader does not appear to have a lot of bodies around him. I’m not even seeing him being linked to any race riots.

Meanwhile Sharpton was attached to racial violence across New York City. He didn’t just say hateful things, he led mobs whose members went on killing sprees. The worst Sharpton massacre occurred at Freddy’s whose owner Sharpton had denounced as a “White Interloper”.

1991: A Hasidic Jewish driver in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights section accidentally kills Gavin Cato, a 7-year-old black child, and antisemitic riots erupt. Sharpton races to pour gasoline on the fire. At Gavin’s funeral he rails against the “diamond merchants” — code for Jews — with “the blood of innocent babies” on their hands. He mobilizes hundreds of demonstrators to march through the Jewish neighborhood, chanting, “No justice, no peace.” A rabbinical student, Yankel Rosenbaum, is surrounded by a mob shouting “Kill the Jews!” and stabbed to death.

Can you remind me of the time David Duke led a lynch mob through a Jewish neighborhood? I’m sure he would have loved to, but unlike Sharpton, he doesn’t have the protection of Democratic politicians.

1995: When the United House of Prayer, a large black landlord in Harlem, raises the rent on Freddy’s Fashion Mart, Freddy’s white Jewish owner is forced to raise the rent on his subtenant, a black-owned music store. A landlord-tenant dispute ensues; Sharpton uses it to incite racial hatred. “We will not stand by,” he warns malignantly, “and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.” Sharpton’s National Action Network sets up picket lines; customers going into Freddy’s are spat on and cursed as “traitors” and “Uncle Toms.” Some protesters shout, “Burn down the Jew store!” and simulate striking a match. “We’re going to see that this cracker suffers,” says Sharpton’s colleague Morris Powell. On Dec. 8, one of the protesters bursts into Freddy’s, shoots four employees point-blank, then sets the store on fire. Seven employees die in the inferno.

Maybe something like this happened around David Duke. I would love to hear about it. But as a New Yorker, I know about the time these things happened around Sharpton.

Sharpton is the David Duke of New York City except his hate isn’t theoretical. There are actual corpses. And he isn’t a pariah. Every Democratic presidential candidate comes down to kiss his ring.

Obama and Holder have both spoken at Sharpton events. As a Jewish person, I take that far more seriously than a GOP congressman appearing at a David Duke event.

I don’t believe Duke actually got around to fulfilling his dream of killing Jews. Al Sharpton has already lived the dream.

Daniel, Daniel, Daniel. It’s the seriousness of the charge. Nothing else matters. Where did you get the insane idea that facts matter? Sure they used to but we wore parachute pants the last time they did.

Get on the stick dude! This is the GOP funded Obamerica!

Well, as a Jew, I once spent a good deal of time with the (at that time) leader of the Montana Militia. (Either you know or you don’t.) He was, of course, generally derided as a kook, but I found him to be a perfect gentleman, an intellectual, and above all someone who really understood our founding principles. We stayed in touch for some time after that. He was very clever and a fine analyst. We disagreed on some things but agreed on most things... The important things. Evidently he was a friend of “David Duke,” the “devil.” Oh well. Who cares? Bright is bright. Sharpton is dull.

I think that he is talking about bell-bottom pants. They were all the rage in the 70s. ;-)

Think back to the early/mid 80s. Those nylon pants with a million zippers in neon colors.

Who Killed More People? David Duke or Al Sharpton?

Sharpton's followers can be linked to 8 deaths, all attributable to protests and riots aided and abetted by Sharpton. If you count the two policemen in New York, that would make 10 in total.

So maybe a more stark comparison would be: "Who Killed More People?? Charles Manson or Al Sharpton?"

Yep, that is about what I was thinking too. Sharp tongue gets a pass because of his skin color.

Somehow I managed to miss those, but then the whole disco/breakdance/shinyclothes period kind of passed me by. LOL!

I was still into traditional Ivy League clothes and Beach Music.

(although a little Barry Manilow was alright now and then :-)
