Republicans rising up to remove Boehner

Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-TX) appeared on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Sunday morning to announce that he is officially challenging House Speaker John Boehner for leadership of the party. Gohmert told Tucker Carlson that Boehner has repeatedly broken core promises to the American people and stabbed the conservative movement in the back at every turn.

Defying "establishment people" who defend Boehner's unmistakably left-wing RINO track record, Gohmert threw his hat in the ring and declared that it "is time for a change." He cited recent polls showing that 60% of Republicans want Boehner removed immediately, and that many Republicans are looking to abandon the party altogether at this point.

Gohmert looked into the camera and stated his message to Boehner: "You deceived us when you went to Obama and Pelosi to get your votes for the Cromnibus. You said you'd fight amnesty tooth-and-nail. You didn't. You funded it." Conservatives across the board have been repeatedly alienated and betrayed by the House Speaker as he surrendered on every major policy fight, aided relentless Democrat attacks on the Constitution, and declared war on the mainstream Tea Party movement.

This oath-breaking leftist abandonment of founding GOP principles has prompted a fierce backlash with conservatives and the creation of numerous "Dump Boehner" groups, as well as several challengers now running against him for Speaker. Oklahoma's Jim Bridestine, Kentucky's Thomas Massie, and Florida's Ted Yoho have all stepped up to replace the wildly unpopular liberal Republican.

Gohmert’s public entry elevates the stakes. And his public announcement
should put pressure on other so called conservatives to take a real hard
look at how they vote for leadership.

We shall soon find out who the real conservatives are
And who are the grand standing fake ones are.
And give those fake ones a primary challenger!

If Gohmert is going to take a shot at someone with Boehners level of power, he better not miss.

"...replace the wildly unpopular liberal Republican."

First time I've see Weepy described in print as a liberal republican. About time. Would say 'treasonous liberal republican' but that's just me. He was handed a voter mandate that he ignored, and that tells us who he is working for, and it isn't the people who voted. If Boner wants to play penny-ante games, let him go back to the political little leagues where such tactics belong. There are no second chances allowed now and he blew it and is now political poison. Go away, Boner, maybe the democrats will have you, but I doubt it.

Going to get exciting soon, I only hope and pray when Speaker Gohmert takes the gabble, that he banishes all persons in the so-called “leadership” from ALL COMMITTEES.

This is the first time since the elections that I have some hope. I'm tired of the RINOs lying to us.

When he media stops referring to RINOs as “normal” moderates and Conservatives as the “wacko” wing of the Republican Party, is when a real corner will have been turned. Not sure we’ve turned that corner yet. We’ll see.

Prediction: Not only will this effort to remove Boner fail, it will fail because the golf pants, establishment RINOs will get help from.... The Democrats. Together they will crush this rebellion.

What Boner did deserves his removal from speaker. Every congress-critter that votes to keep the Boner erect deserves to be “Cantored”.

“My Congressman is Jim Bridenstine.

He votes nearly 100% like I would vote.”
*******************************************************************************************************
He is definitely a solid representative. I had hoped that he would run for Senate in 2014 but he opted to run for reelection to the House. He may be another one willing to throw his name out as a potential candidate. Like Louie Gohmert, Bridenstine would also be an outstanding Speaker (or part of Leadership).

It appears that a lot of FReepers are not familiar with how the Speaker is elected. If Boehner doesn’t receive a MAJORITY of the votes cast for a candidate on the first round of voting, it will go to however many additional rounds will be needed until someone gets a majority of the votes. If it goes additional round(s), you can bet that the votes that went for Boehner in Round one will begin to peel away. So the goal is to keep him from winning on the first round -— then Katie, bar the door.

Since Louie mentioned Ted Yoho, I went to his site and definitely don't want him.

Here he makes excuses for offering the bill that allowed all the spending.

of course, if they vote against Boehner and he wins, they will pay both a personal and political price

I disagree totally. If they back down on the promises they made to voters for their own personal convenience, they've sold their souls and backed down on principle. It isn't about them, it's about representing constitutional conservative principles.

If they don't see that, they were never on our side to begin with. If they vote for Boehner they're worse than Democrats. With the dems, we know which side they're on.

“Huckster Bee please just leave!”

I feel the same way. Drudge has the Huskster story, but not the Gohmert challenge. I sent the youtube link to him, but he hasn't posted it yet. Maybe if enough people sent it to him, he would post a link to this story. As far as I'm concerned it's a lot bigger story than the Huckster.

I wonder if Boehner, Gohmert and others are willing to chance a return of Pelosi? This may be a King Solomon moment

“Of course, if they vote against Boehner and he wins, they will pay both a personal and political price.”

They need to develop a thick skin like Louie and be willing to take their cause to the people. I'm tired of the Dems and the RINOs.
