“what order is the vote? do ya know?”

It’s alphabetical, one by one. Voice vote by name.

Heard some GOP party bitch on Fox today basically saying that Boehner will be reelected Speaker no problem, that the leadership was sick and tired of these pissants daring to challenge them, and that they will be punished.

Boehners office even released a statement saying that this is the same crowd that voted against him last term, which is a LIE.

They are not accounting for all of the freshmen that owe nothing to this degenerate conniving drunk son of a bitch corruptocrat Boehner.

GO TO HELL BOEHNER

The vote is alphabetical (by last name regardless of Party) and each Rep, when his/her name is called, verbally announces out loud who he is voting for.

It takes 50%+1 of those voting a name to win the speakership.
Those that vote present, etc aren’t counted. If all vote a name then
it will take 218 votes to win.

‘’probably someone already in the leadership)”

What would be the point of replacing Jonbon with another fellow traveler? Best then to leave him and vote liberal going forward since the status quo would remain.

No doubt.. but it needs to build some steam and become a movement before the vote.

Who is keeping the official count?

My Critter is new (replaced Dr. Paul Broun) so I do not know how he will vote. I sent him a message that he had nothing to gain or lose by voting for Boner.

Yes, this is another issue. For Boehner has created a nice little moderate chain of command, keeping all conservatives out of leadership and committee chairmanships, with Scalise as a convenient token that does his bidding.

There us only one (semi) human that I loathe, despise, and spit upon more than Dorkbama.

That (almost) person is Bonehead.

May they both meet again.

Head on.

At 100 mph.

This is the very reason the Establishment went ALL OUT to defeat as many Tea Party and primary challengers as possible (remember Romney travelling all over the place and endorsing), for they need every single vote to retain their power.

Yep, we need an actual real live constitutional conservative as Speaker. Off line someone mentioned Mia Love would be a good candidate. That’s not going to happen of course, but it’s fun to think about. To be replaced by an absolute rookie would be a humiliation to Boehner. Plus, since the GOPe adopted ‘RAT tactics in Mississippi to advance Cochran, conservatives could (on a one-time basis only) adopt the ‘RAT tactic and declare any vote against Mia Love to be “racist”. ;^)

The speaker is elected by a majority of votes for a speaker. So it really will not be possible to accidentally elect Nancy - but it is possible with or without the goings on.

Since it is a majority that is needed, there is no “fracturing” or “splitting the conservative” vote problem.

Voting “present” or abstaining has the effect of reducing the total # of votes for a speaker - so this would reduce the number needed for a majority. For example, if 35 vote present or abstain, that would mean the speaker would only need the majority of 399 [not the majority of 434]... or 200. You can see that a large number of abstentions [dem or repub] would help put boehner back in the speaker’s chair.

Also possible is a few dems in red areas actually vote for boehner - that would obviously help him get the gavel too.

The only two ways nancy gets it:
if all dems plus >29 Rs vote for her
If all dems vote for her and >60 Rs abstain

There will be no nancy.

I just want to deny boehner his gavel = and failing that I want to make sure his power is diminished beyond repair - which would lead to a new election :)

Thats why you have to avoid the RINOs. You have to go outside them as they are clones. If not, you empower a clone. Now you have a clone that hates you.

Those are the public ones. There are at least 14+ that have not yet publicly announced. I have the number from the article on Massie where he said a group of 19-20 were discussing their votes against Boehner.

There are 43 new GOP in the House.

Boehner has no way of knowing how they will vote.

The blue bloods are terrified.

If Limbaugh comes out against him tomorrow, the drunk backstabbing son of a whore is gone.
