Bess Meyerson was never a regular panelist on What’s My Line, and I don’t think she ever appeared once as a guest panelist or celebrity contestant on WML. However she was a regular panelist on To Tell the Truth.
RIP.
Furness was the regular spokesmodel for Westinghouse. But she was away that particular week. The story was told and re-told that it was Furness.
If you watch the video, you can see that the latch on the door was very unusual—it was to be pushed in rather than pulled. In the 50’s, EVERYTHING had to push-button if at all possible. She obviously hadn’t been instructed in how to open the door.
It was possible to get along better with liberals until they started killing babies—around 1967.
My first memories were sitting in a highchair eating breakfast in front of the tv watching What’s My Line, To Tell the Truth and Truth or Consequences. At that age, I didn’t like the contestants who lied.
Her name was June Graham.
Betty Furness was away that week. It was June Graham who had the problem. As you can see from the video, Westinghouse had an unusual door latch, and Graham had not been instructed in its use.
I forgot: In the winter, she put the ice out on the fire escape. Again, to make it last longer.
I always liked Edward Herrmann. I think he reminded me of someone I knew. Didn't know he had died.
You are right. Thank you. Funny thing is, I had just been thinking of Bess Myerson during the funeral of Detective Liu. I was thinking that Ed Koch would have blasted DeBlasio, and for some reason thought of Bess Myerson.
“I’ve Got A Secret”, was a great show. I remember watching it as a very little girl with my mom. It was best when Garry Moore was the host. Bess Myerson was a very pretty lady. May she RIP.
