Boehner likely to survive another squeaker for speaker
Politico ^ | January 5, 2015 | By JAKE SHERMAN and JOHN BRESNAHAN

John Boehner could lose the support of as many as 20 Republicans on his way to a near-certain reelection as House speaker, his allies concede — a political embarrassment for a GOP leader who narrowly survived a conservative rebellion two years ago.

--snip-- Among other issues, the dissenters are angry at the speaker for crafting a yearlong, $1.1 trillion spending bill that didn’t directly target Obama’s use of executive action to loosen immigration enforcement. Boehner has argued that he’s fought to defang Obamacare, and he has promised a 2015 fight on immigration — but with Obama in the White House, Republicans can only achieve so much.

I’ve said that all day. It happens every two years no matter the party. It is entertainment and we get a yuk yuk for a few days. Speaker Boehner is getting sworn in soon. Do I like it? Yes because I didn’t want Nancy again.

There should be, at minimum, 100 Republican Reps lining up publicly to vote against Boehner. Where are these power hungry traitors? At the bar with Bonehead?

More like at the trough :(

I had no hopes at all going into the last election, and I have not been disappointed in the slightest.

The sound of Boehner surviving is eerily similar to a gop death-rattle.

Some would call that Blackmail.

Politico is well connected. I don’t like their agenda and leftist leanings, but they have reliable, accurate info when it comes to the Hill.

I’m trying to calm myself right now watching Greta with Ron Fournier and some other idiot smearing the conservative rebellion in favor of Boehner. Its sickening. I hate Ron Fournier with a passion. Mr. GG2 has finally gotten me to stop screaming at the TV. OK now he’s handing me a martini so I don’t stroke out. Greta is such a lefty tool.

We’re in a position now, that the Democrats were in, in the 1970’s and 1980’s a leadership that didn’t reflect their base (which was going increasingly liberal).

Only now we have a leadership problem where they don’t represent US the grassroots, as they’re not conservative.

We need to do what they did and work our way in, then replace the “moderates” who really care about their corporate masters and not the middle class (and well everyone that doesn’t live in CA (San Fran) IL (Chi) and NY (NYC) or MA (Boston).

“Politico is well connected. I don’t like their agenda and leftist leanings, but they have reliable, accurate info when it comes to the Hill.”

So the choice is to listen only to false information giving false hopes.

Or to get the truth, and deal with it.

My brother and I will make the GOP voter rolls 2 smaller after Boner gets reelected.

I’m done with these corrupt slimeballs and the whole corrupt Uni-Party. I’ve voted straight GOP in every damn election since 1972 and I’m done with being pissed on as a reward for my loyalty.

Do not forget Greta is a liberal. So she will not put Fournier down. Even O’Reilly called Greta out as one of the liberals on Fox. Another FOX liberal who tries to pass himself of as “fair and balanced” is Chris Wallace.

Never get frustrated and annoyed over all this, it is bad for the health. I control myself by counting my blessings.

I can appreciate your frustrations with the GOPe. On the other side of equation, you really do not want to sit on the sidelines or worse yet, join a losing team.
