This one was so sad.Watched most of it.A broken hearted new wife.De Blasio had no right to take the spotlight away from the grieving family. His wife looks like she pooped her pants and had to walk in it and put up with it..

The two of them are low lifers in my opinion....He’s certainly not qualified for the job and she’s all about black and woman issues....she’s been an activists for years and now has her office and her own staff in City HAll ....he makes no moves without her and she wears the pants in city hall!

Ok, I don't understand the difference.

Now back to the point: This mans funeral was not the platform for this BS and the behavior is disrespectful and despicable.

Whoa!

I certainly meant money is NOT necessary to dressing appropriately

Crazy, I go, when people say ‘oh the dress code to thus thing or that can’t can’t be jacket and tie’, The troops can’t afford ... What? A blue sport coat lasts for what? Twenty years if it’s not worn a lot. A tie is how much? At tjmaxx or goodwill

How can anyone dream of any kind of earning power or success if they can’t figure out how to get a black skirt and a pair of black pumps and put them in a closet and get hold of a decent coat and take care of it. Hang it up and do what my father used to tell us to do ad nauseum ‘keep your hands out of your pockets

Oy

I knew what you meant.

My Dad grew up very poor in the Depression, with a widowed mother caring for him, his sister and their grandmother. His local public high school required the students (boys) attend school with coats, ties and shined leather shoes. His mother was able to do this, and indeed, thought it was a good and normal requirement.

Imagine such a requirement (or nearly any standard) in a public city high school today?

Most black people going to an event make a point of dressing very nicely, she is an exception.

Oh. I know. Off the subj of dear PO Liu, mine has a pair of loafers, black leather,
3 1/2 yrs into a four year deal, and we own a shoe shine kit. $60 over four years it’s $15 per year no worries. Walkable shoes, leather soles make for a far better comfort, and the friends are hobbling around by each April with duct taped Payless at $20 per year plus the time spent shopping

Well, basic economics — quality, and, of course, dignity

What the Mayor’s wife said by wearing scruffy blue jeans is that she didn’t want to go to the funeral in the first place. So her rebellion for having to go to it was to wear her blue jeans. She really showed them up for her being forced to go to the funeral, didn’t she. Infantile.

They turned their back on a man who Co tributes the the deaths of these two cops. They turned their backs on a man who is risky their lives for political purposes. Politics had nothing to do with their actions.

Sounds like you had the same kind of mother I had. All nine of us went to school, church, wherever properly attired, and our good manners went with us.

I tried to raise my 4 the same way.

“Now back to the point: This mans funeral was not the platform for this BS and the behavior is disrespectful and despicable.”

The police officers showed respect by using a quiet dignified turn of the back on deBlasio at the slain officer's funereal. He died because of people like DeBlasio and Al Sharpton who created an atmosphere of police hatred. The police showed respect; DeBlasio did not by showing up at the funereal. His wife also mocked the funereal with her blue jeans.

This was done to make it look as though the cops weren't really dissing DeBlasio, they were dissing the dead cop. That wife of his always looks like she is suffering from inflamed hemorrhoids.

That Bratton character needs to step down and Mayor Doofus DeBlasio should follow.

The man’s funeral would not have taken place were it not for race rabble rousers like deBlasio. Every police officer whose own life is at stake because of deBlasio, and who turned his back reiterated that fact in a rather civil manner.

Why would they NOT show him disrespect? deBlasio was entrusted by the people with their votes to an Office that is supposed to support NYPD, not to discredit and malign it, and leave each and every one of its members as targets for cop-haters that this Mayor encouraged.

Further, Officer Liu’s funeral was delayed because the Liu family for the most part had to get to NYC from China. Between their grief and cultural and language differences, they would not have known the first thing about this Mayor or his role in their loved one’s death.
