Boehner takes revenge (Foes find themselves losing plum committee posts.)

John Boehner is getting revenge.

He secured his third term as speaker Tuesday afternoon, losing 25 votes on the House floor to three relatively unknown members of the House Republican Conference. But he’s already punishing those who betrayed him.

First up: Florida Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent. The pair will be booted from their spots on the House Rules Committee, according to sources familiar with the decision. Webster ran against Boehner (R-Ohio) for speaker Tuesday, and Nugent supported his fellow Floridian.

The Rules Committee is a panel appointed by the speaker, and it controls the flow of legislation to the House floor. It’s a prestigious appointment for members who are loyal to leadership.

Nugent and Webster should retaliate by hiring 10 private investigators to scour every personal detail of Boehner, McCarthy, Scalise and McMorris-Rogers, and give all damning documents, testimony, photos and/or videos to the tabloids.

Democrats in the senate are going to filibuster all these tweaks except Gowdy’s amnesty bill.

It is very important to out Trey Gowdy as being hand picked by Boehner and Chamberbots to push amnesty(with his loudmouth tough but fair rhetoric) to the Tea Party.

From Rush today:
January 06, 2015

“Here we’ve just given the House Republicans the biggest majority in both houses they’ve ever seen, and they’re out actively attempting to impugn, destroy, mock, make fun of the people that gave it to them, their own voters. It’s a stunning thing to behold.”

“Can anybody name a time when the party’s own leadership turned on its base the way the GOP leadership has turned on the Republican base? Can you think of a time when the Democrats have turned on their base like this? And that base deserves to be turned on. If there’s ever a base that deserves to be ignored and apologized for, it’s the Democrat base.”

This probably goes on and has gone on since the first Congress met, no matter who the Speaker is. It is telling, though, that it is still business as usual under Boehner; no change. I was expectantly hoping for better.

As the Beatles sang, "I should have known better".

Yet it was Rush who also famously repeated even today “You do not attempt to take out the king unless you are sure you succeed”.

He needs to re-read his last children’s book. Our Founders had no surety they were going to achieve anything but their own hanging.

Yet their principles told them that the risk is worth it.

Not so apparently by the Spokesman for the Conservative movement.

Lord help us. We are stuck on stupid.

Well they all knew it would happen. That’s what makes them heroes. I loathe John Boehner more than Obama.

There are some 67 Tea Party Conservatives in the House, that gives them VETO POWER OVER ALL LEGISLATION if they stick together. They have the power to STOP anything they want if they use it.

what goes around comes around. Boehner came awfully close to a run-off. not saying he would have lost a runoff but who knows? if a conservative ever gets elected speaker he should purge RINOs. I have no problem with purging enemies.

They understood it would happen going in. Give them credit for doing a principled vote anyway.

Agreed. We need a good list of these patriots.

Could you link to that list please?

"I should have known better

That's the irony of it. Because of strong support from constitutional conservatives, in spite of our disgust over the McDaniel backstabbing, the Republicans were left with NO EXCUSES. So what did they do? Pass a budget that lets Obama off the hook before the new crowd got in power. And what does the new crowd do? Re-elect Boehner with one of those bogus votes with almost enough opposition to unseat him.

We the voters gave them a lifeline to maybe still be able to save the US. They used it to hang themselves. They have no credible excuses remaining why they can say they're anything but part of the problem.
