Understood!
I once was going to move to the country and commute into city to work. I went out there and tried it.
At 6am, the cars were just six feet apart..at 66mph!
if you tried to open up some moer space, another car would suddenly dive into it
i asked around, folks said the commuters out there were ‘used to it’
i wasn’t. i didn’t move there.
I lived out in New Jersey for many years. Several years drove 50 miles to work - it took anywhere from 45 to 50 minutes every day, most of it freeway. It was odd how consistent it was. Like you described - going fast and close.
Except on days when there were accidents - then it would be a 2-4 hour trip. That only happened a couple of times in three years though.
indeed! yes it is amazing how infrquently they smash into each other. but when they do, it can be 10 or 30 or even 100 cars!
We’ve lived in a LOT of places, but I have NEVER seen people drive as fast as in Michigan. In Miami they drive CARELESSLY AND fast, but Michigan they drive FASTER!!
