Sure, it’s like the selfies with signs saying, “Bring home our girls”. Scared those moHAMheads right into returning the girls they had kidnapped from the boarding school, right?

...will avenge the attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo by rendering jihadist websites inaccessible.

I agree with your observation but will not a couple more
terrorist attacks change their minds. If the French, in essence, continue to make their country a gun free zone more
such attacks will occur.

Regular citizens, though, don’t deserve to be armed, because unlike the deaths of police officers, citizen’s lives aren’t worth protecting.

No, silly, only Police can proctect and defend.

“Or maybe some people are idealistic fools who don’t bother thinking about how long it takes the cops to reach the scene of the call.”

To your point.

“Gun control” survives as an idea because most Americans believe one single myth:

“You don’t need a gun because the police protect you from crime.”

If you don’t know exactly why that statement is a lie, then you cannot destroy “gun control.”

If you can’t effectively rebut that statement, then you cannot make the strongest positive case for private firearms ownership.

The French tried to buy off the Vikings with land. Gave them Normandy. The Normans later conquered England and eventually fought the 100 years war with France. Deja Vu all over again.

a French police source who attended a briefing Saturday told CNN Terror Analyst Samuel Laurent.

And yet he didn't know about this planned attack..........Wonder how reliable HIS source is.

Put in mind that the protection myth is true even if the police are trying. Even the honest admissions show that police can take half an hour or more to reach your home, when they are trying. I was merely giving an ideal scenario, which even then looks pretty bad considering how long it takes for a crime to be committed and the perp to get away. I don’t know if you have ever heard of a rural Kish Bank near State College, Pennsylvania. Because if you did, you would know that the local Kish bank, especially in that rural area, gets robbed, and the assailant pretty much gets away from the scene long before the police get there. Similar with some other local convenience stores that get robbed out of business. Even more, if society gets unstable and ugly enough, no amount of police force can keep it contained, I will be honest, when you realize what prepare for the worst means, that means Ferguson is just the beginning of a worse wave.

Maybe it is time for an underground manufacturing of Sten submachine guns to start in France. It helped liberate France from the Nazis; it could help liberate them from the Islamo-fascists.
