Conservative talk radio host and commentator Glenn Beck on Saturday saw a screening of Selma, a film shot in the Yellowhammer State about the Alabama citys role in the Civil Rights struggle, and immediately after it concluded took to Facebook to urge every American to go see it.
"We saw Selma tonight. I really wanted to see it but at the same time I worried about the spin of the story. It is an Oprah movie. She attended J. Wrights church. If she could sit through those sermons, God only knows what she really believes. The last thing I want to do is be preached to about how racist America is.
Would it be a message movie or would they tell the whole truth and let it speak for itself?
I am thrilled to say, this is a movie that every American should see. Now, it is equally important for those on the Right to see this film. Many think we are living the civil rights era again I do not believe we are, yet there are some of the same roots. The targeting of King and anyone who stands against the power in D.C., the loss of rights, although nowhere to the extent of what blacks went through.
To me this film tells me it will be our children black and white, Left and Right that will fight this battle and not us. Will they be prepared, educated and humble enough to stand for all men are created equal?

Yes, but (apparently, according to Beck) the movie addresses it.
"I was also shocked and glad they told the truth about MLKs personal flaws. I am glad that they did not harp on it, but they did address it. I thought this was important. It shows that he was not perfect and that if we just are willing to obey Him (God), He will not be thwarted. He will use anyone who says, I may be afraid, but I will do as you ask. Watch the kneeling scene on the bridge, powerful God moment. Again, willing to be unpopular because God told him."
I saw it live on TV when it actually took place........
To me this film tells me it will be our children... that will fight this battle and not us.
Then your children are going to lose Glenn not only because they're white but because the leftists and the black leaders have too much to gain from a continued racial divide.....
First I don’t care much for Glen Beck.
Nevertheless, I did here it was good from another conservative.
Although ever since Oprah Winfrey said,
1) I support Obama,
2) America is racist
3) and I hate white people.
Then she took the, “ I hate America side” after this country made her very wealthy by mainly the people she hates , “whites”.
I will not giver her squat. Since these statements her ratings have, thank goodness, tanked because of it.
This movie is this years “12 Years A Slave” movie, intended to stir up racial animosities by talking about the past and allowing liberals to state that nothing has changed in this country since the events if this movie..
I predict this movie will win many Oscars. The politically correct subject matter makes it an irresistible choice for Oscar voters. Regardless of the quality of this movie, its subject makes it an instant Oscar contender.
I will tell you Beck's website so annoying, slowest ever pop up ads before the auto-starting video ads, ads for every video posted, homepage tease after tease, you know, to get you to click that next page full of the same crap.
From Oprah who believes all old white Southerners need to die? NO THANKS.
...and is there anyone with a lick of sense...

I don’t care what Beck says, I’m not interested in anything that Oprah puts out.
I don’t spend money on racist trash.
So “No”, I won’t be watching “Selma”.
Good question. The trailer shows a few white faces but I know nothing beyond that. The only march specifically mentioned in Heston's Wiki bio is the 1963 March for Jobs and Freedom in DC. This eventually resulted in the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Sorry, you might as well write a check to the DNC, because that’s where the money you spend on this film will ultimately wind up.
“The slave doesn’t dream of freedom, he dreams of being Master.”
I feel the same .. waste of time .. and the fact that Oprah was involved in it only tells me not to bother.
I liked “12 years a slave”. I almost didn’t rent it, figured it would be Hollywood’s crap like the “Butler”. Actually, it didn’t portray all whites as evil. The community leaders from his home town put their lives in danger when they came down and rescued him. Also, the part Brad Pitt played was in the memoir.
I looked up the story and read his original memoir. Don’t know if everything thing in it was true, but it was definitely based on the memoir (written in 1853).
I don’t mind watching true stories, but I don’t want to watch anything Oprah has a hand in. It’s bound to be a bunch of garbage.
1) It’s an Oprah production
2) It’s yet another treatment of one of the handful of topics we see endlessly recycled on PBS and other liberal media
1+2 = forget it
Sorry to say but I believe he was also still a Dem in those days.
Oh yeah no doubt.... Another reason I will not waste my time.
Actor Don Cheadle learns that Indians owned his slave ancestors.

She told lies about Ronald Reagan in The Butler. That’s why I never watched that one. Oprah is a liar.
One would wish huckster Glen Beck should just STFU! Just another ‘black feel good” movie at the expense of whites. don’t waste your money.
