Nothing like a good football program headed by a great coach.

It made a 180 degree change in my sons attitude. He was starting to run with the wrong crowd until the football coach got ahold of him.

I know. My son's coach told all the boys when they got home from practice, "First thing take a shower, then wash your football clothes cuz your mom doesn't need to do that, then do your homework. Boom, boom, boom."

My son had not said anything about college and I asked him if he wanted to play when he went to college and he turned to me and said, "Yes, I do."

He got into a 2D school as a preferred walk-on, but suffered a shoulder injury that knocked the want to play out of him. However, all of the good habits he learned saw him through a four-year degree.

My favorite memories of all my kids schooling was going to watch them play their sports, and especially Friday night.
