Why Hillary Clinton won’t run for president
Washington Times ^ | January 15, 2015 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 01/16/2015 3:49:07 AM PST by Zakeet

Hillary can’t win, and that’s why she won’t run. She may not know that yet herself, but a lot of Democrats want her because she’s all they’ve got. The Republicans are counting on her to run because they think she’s the candidate they can beat in what looks from here like it could be a Republican year.

Against every positive, there’s two or three negatives. Everyone has a list. Many women like her, some women worship her. Most men despise her. She reminds them of their ex-wives. Life is not fair. Men, a wise man said, are assumed to be competent until they prove otherwise; that was Mr. Obama’s good fortune in 2008, when nobody looked at him closely. Women are thought to be incompetent until they prove otherwise, as many women in politics and business do every day. Getting credit is not easy.

[Snip]

She’s stiff and wooden as a public speaker, as if trying to prove Dr. Johnson’s famous aphorism that a woman preaching is like a dog trying to walk on its hind legs. Hillary is tone-deaf besides. She’s always starting on her “back foot,” as the English say, and she’s a mediocre campaigner, too. Bubba would never have said the family, with millions in the bank, was “dead broke. Not because it was a lie but because everybody in America knew it was a lie. A skilled politician would never have asked, after the Benghazi debacle, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” Whatever gift for politics she has, she got from imitating Bubba. Voters won’t be satisfied with a pale imitation, and nobody listens to two-time losers.

As much as I’d like to believe the premise of the article, I believe she will run. They just brought back Podesta. I’m sure there will be a spot for McCauliffe and even Carville if they wanted. She’s probably getting some ‘body and face’ work done during the winter months; then emerge in the Spring refreshed, de-wrinkled and a bit thinner and rested. Everything is meticulously planned with these people. She didn’t make any comments on the Paris attack...but Bill came out with meek comments the other day. I’m sure she’s running. The only thing that would stop her would be something wrong with Bill’s health.

the front-runner in 2008, and it was progressive Democrats who pushed her aside

Also bear in mind, She quit on the eve of the convention (after two superdelegates were found dead)...

If the DNC decides that She Who Must Not Be Named shall be the anointed one, they will use the Chicago Plumbers on Her behalf as well. Couple that with the trail of bodies behind Her ("Who killed Vince Foster?") and we are dealing with ruthless thugs for another generation.

The off-message comments from the Hildebeast may be less tone deafness and more dementia. Anyone else notice what appeared to be an “absence moment” when she muttered the comment about corporations “not creating jobs!”

I so hope the dems nominate her, because she.. at some point in time .. will implode. I want to see her crumble on national TV, preferably during a debate.

Her stony silence about the terror attacks in Paris isn’t by accident, IMO. Any serious presidential contender IMO would openly condemn them. I’m thinking her “good days” haven’t yet come back around, so going public would be detrimental to her chances even further.

Much of Pruden’s argument is spot-on, but here’s where he goes off the rails:

“The press, which took a dive in 2008, is loaded this time. She will get sharp questions that she won’t be able to blow off in 2016.”

That may be true if there’s a contested primary, especially with some leftist loon like Warren or Brown, but it sure won’t be the case in the general, no matter who the Republicans run, whether Paul or Cruz or even Mitt or Bush.

No one is as predictable as the MSM; they may not get all warm and squishy for the Hildabeast as they did for Bubba, but when the actual campaign hits, they’ll be falling all over themselves to see who dons the kneepads first.

She’s TIRED. Campaigns knock the heck out of her. She looks like she’s aged 20 years after one.

“...as if trying to prove Dr. Johnson’s famous aphorism that a woman preaching is like a dog trying to walk on its hind legs.”

I have gotten into trouble quoting Johnson: “A woman preaching is like a dog trying to walk on its hind legs; you are not surprised he can’t do it well, you are surprised he can do it at all.” Or something like that.

"age works against women in politics"

The very French looking, John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, had quite a bit of plastic surgery in order to look young, rested and fresh. Hillary will too.

They'll run her as a shield for Whitesquaw.

Just before the s-election Cankles will become unable to run, and Warren will slither in unquestioned unblemished unvetted. Kinda like Hussein did, no vetting allowed.

If she cannot run this time, then it will be the end of Hillary politically.

Excuse me but isn't that the same republicans that managed to lose to Obama twice. Yeah, I thought so.

I agree. I have a bet with my best friend of $5 and pitcher of Marguitas that Hill won’t run. Somebody rightly observed recently that Hillary Clinton wants to be President she just doesn’t want to have to run for President.

I’ve heard that since Hillary left DC and moved back to NYC, BJ is spending a lot more time at the POTUS library in Little Rock.

It is common courtesy to include a warning when posting such graphic pictures. I opened the thread just after I ate lunch and nearly lost it. Thanks a heap!

She’s old, she’s in mediocre health, and nobody likes her anymore, that last book was the trial balloon and it sank. Plus the normal waves of the mushy middle means the GOP nom is almost guaranteed a win anyway, why go through the effort.

Don’t worry he doesn’t. They’re almost never even in the same state, forget the same bed.
