Western Christianity has devolved into a three (thousand) ring circus. Eastern Orthodox church is not so fractured. Franklin Graham has more sense in his little finger than the curia.

The Church has had many towering intellectuals, but Frances is not one of them. By definition, a populist does not flaunt his intellectualism. Humility is one of the most valued qualities in the best-loved Popes.
Mind you, I personally think this one is overly obsessed with things that are Caesar's.
