PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) — Police say a newborn child was found burning in the middle of a road in Pemberton Township, New Jersey.
It happened late Friday night along the unit block of Simontown Road.
Sources say neighbors witnessed a woman, in her 20’s, douse a newborn child in an unknown flammable substance and then set the infant on fire.
Responding officers doused the flames and the child was flown to St. Christopher’s Hospital For Children with second and third degree burns on the entirety of the baby’s body.
The child’s condition was not immediately known.
Police have not said if the woman was the child’s mother.

A delayed abortion. Nothing to see here. Move along. Would be worse for the baby in an abortion clinic where he’d be viciously pulled apart, limb from limb. No charges.
I would say there are better than 50% odds that there will be a parental DNA match with a known offender. And once they know the “baby daddy”, it will be easy to find the murderous “baby mama”, if the homicide is indeed her doing.
And, this is the sort of thing police live for. It will motivate them to do a good job.

At the 2010 United States Census, there were 1,409 people, 581 households, and 403.8 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,408.7 per square mile (930.0/km2). There were 642 housing units at an average density of 1,097.5 per square mile (423.7/km2). The racial makeup of the borough was 74.38% (1,048) White, 15.26% (215) Black or African American, 0.21% (3) Native American, 3.26% (46) Asian, 0.00% (0) Pacific Islander, 3.12% (44) from other races, and 3.76% (53) from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 12.70% (179) of the population.[7]
There were 581 households, of which 25.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% were non-families. 24.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.79.[7]
In the borough, 19.0% of the population were under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 33.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43.1 years. For every 100 females there were 90.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.5 males.[7]
The Census Bureau's 2006-2010 American Community Survey showed that (in 2010 inflation-adjusted dollars) median household income was $65,568 (with a margin of error of +/- $9,899) and the median family income was $74,773 (+/- $17,679). Males had a median income of $44,750 (+/- $5,830) versus $46,406 (+/- $8,202) for females. The per capita income for the borough was $36,399 (+/- $6,078). About 2.8% of families and 6.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.5% of those under age 18 and 1.8% of those age 65 or over.[34]
There is no conceivable punishment that would be sufficient to punish this woman. Life has become of so little worth that crimes such as this do not deter the perpetrators.
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth is all that comes to mind.

The neighbors reported this but the police put out the flames?

Has the assailant been arrested?
Why is there no description of this person outside of general age and gender?
I wish the neighbors had rushed to the aid of the baby instead of waiting for the police to do it. Takes police 2-10 min to come to a scene- this baby could have been helped immediately by the neighbors.
Regardless-I can’t imagine the pain this baby is suffering not to mention if it survives, the surgeries and scars it will have.
The baby has died. The woman was tackled by neighbor and held. She is now under observation. Relationship is unknown.
No baby deserves this.
Yet over a million a year receive a death sentence in our nation’s abortion clinics.
42 years and 60 million dead babies later, and we still kill over a million a year.
Pretty soon, God will owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.
