The owner of a New Jersey deli shot and killed a man who police say was attempting to rob the store at gunpoint. New Jersey has made it almost impossible for law abiding citizens to own guns and concealed weapons permits are nearly impossible to acquire. Thugs in the state are not expecting an armed response and for this would be criminal, it will be his last attempt.

Exactly. This is misleading and just a plain ol' waste of time.
“I never dated a woman in the South who didnt have a pistol in her handbag. Not one.”
That’s because they knew you had a pistol in your pocket and they didn’t want you to use it. Admit it.
I don’t kiss and tell.
Prosecutors will eventually charge her and she will get many years in jail for doing what the police could not.
Um, I do believe that if I were ever charged with criminal possession of an unregistered BB gun in New Jersey, I'd make bail and skip town never to return.
Just LET them try to extradite me from Nevada for that charge.
What a story.
Ya know, some laws are just meant to be disregarded.
I carry without a permit. Screw them and their laws. I’m not getting “permission” from anyone to protect myself. They can kiss my ass!
I wonder if the owner's name is Patel?
Irvine Turner Blvd. was Housing Projects' Row, then HUD bulldozed them and put up town houses thinking the same people would act differently if they pretended to live like everyone else-they are still thugs.
BTW, who the heck is Irvine Turner?
It used to be Belmont Ave before the riots.
It used to be a 4-lane road way lined with housing projects for blocks, then all knocked down, and rebuilt with condo's. We foot the bill to first purchase the land, then build housing projects, then those were knocked down and now there are townhouses.
I don’t know about the ones on Irvine Turner Blvd., but other sections of Newark replaced the high-rise tenements with low-rises that in some cases are sold to the people. They are heavily subsidized (I believe they pay about $600 per month), but they are certainly better cared for than rental units.
People with no stake in anything can really show it.
... I found out that my Uncle Bob, who was in his late 60's and had never been arrested, had been waiting over a year on a permit to buy a Daisy Red Ryder 50th anniversary BB gun..
The 2nd amendment of the Constitution gives one the right to
bear firearms. If the state charges this man with a gun possession offence, then there is still a self defense plea and also a plea on the 2nd amendment, regardless of what the State laws say. The federal law rules in questions of life and limb self defense.
Granted the article lacks in detail, but I cannot think of one charge the store owner could face. If the store owner has a FID card and the gun was purchased with a valid permit (I bet at the Bullet Hole in Belleville), and the shooting occurred in his place of business, where he legally has the right to possess (the range and home are the other places), and the perp had a gun in his hand as per the article, then the store owner is free and clear. I’m am a NJ gun owner and am very familiar with NJ laws. The store owner followed NJ’s gun laws to the T.
OMG he’s BLACK!!!
