*condescending voice* That’s okay: Europe has plenty of “green” energy. They don’t need the natural gas.

Haven’t they done this like 12 times during the past week, or am I just reading duplicate posts/stories?

Putin is desperate, hopefully this backfires on him. In the mean time, the Euro’s should put on sweaters and snuggle up!

He is making them undertake hugely expensive infrastructure changes.

Gazprom announced that it will instead ship gas previously transiting Ukraine to the Greek-Turkish border via a Black-Sea underwater pipeline. Gazprom’s CEO brushed off European objections that it has no infrastructure to handle such shipments, stating that “We have informed our European partners, and now it is up to them to put in place the necessary infrastructure starting from the Turkish-Greek border.” In other words, Europe must undertake a massive infrastructure investment to replace a well-functioning transmission system, just for Putin’s convenience.

Just a stupid question. Is this why Cameron was over here lobbying our senators? Iran = oil?

Yeh real smart. Your currency is crashing and you cut off your nose to spite your face. Typical 70’s style BS. The Russian public and the 40 or so oligarchs Putey works for are not going to appreciate going back to the 70’s bread lines.. I think he’s going to be toast soon.

Wow, even Forbes got pulled into this old news story brought back from 2009 by a blogger.

The first link showing the source of the news for the cut is a six year old story from the Daily Mail.

This article was written January 6th, 2009.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/search.html?offset=100&size=50&sel=site&searchPhrase=&sort=recent&type=article&authornamef=Robert+Lea&days=all

Click on the Authors name in the original article. He has not written for the Daily Mail in over 5 years.

It’s not as if he would not be removed from power if he were to back down.

In equally surprising news, water has been discovered to be wet.

Gutsy move. Telling the former members of the ‘Pact to get their gas from the West, if that’s where their sympathies lay.

the Daily Mail article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1106382/Europe-plunged-energy-crisis-Russia-cuts-gas-supply-Ukraine.html

didn’t have a date, but sounded like it was right before winter started... still its earlier than last week.

This article, which Forbes pulled, was written by a Ukranian who will likely never write for Forbes again. It pulls together disparate facts to create an anti-Russian diatribe. We shouldn’t waste our time commenting on fantasy, which this is.

I am reading a book called “Cauldron”...

Its a “Tom Clancey-ish” type story...It talks a little bit about this as a lead in for more interesting developments...
