Did he create the triple nickel chip.....? aka 555 ?
...rendered safe a load of IED’s that used that 555 chip. Always wondered who designed it.

No, Hans Camenzind created the legendary 555 timer IC.
It's my favorite old analog IC along with the still useful 567 tone decoder chip.
