Wouldn’t a deflated football weigh the same as an inflated football 13 psi doesn’t “weigh” 13 lbs?
I noticed in a close-up of the football during a South Carolina game that the ball looked well worn.
Is it possible that Spurrier is purposely using well worn footballs because they are tackier and softer? Would they even be illegal
Where’s the protesters when you need them, the Indy wambulance needs to be diverted.
If the Rat-riots knew in advance that the balls would be deflated, and they had practiced using deflated balls, that could have given them an advantage.
But the Dolts, not knowing this, would have assumed the balls would be normal according to NFL rules, and would have expected normal behavior, hence they would have been at a disadvantage.
It probably didn’t affect the outcome of the game, but if it was closer, perhaps it could have.
Not the first time, and it won't be the last.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say that the Colts’ balls were totally not a factor in the game. ;-)
Was it a deflated ball that bounced off Josh Cribbs helmet on the Pat’s first punt?
Whether bush-league belly-chick cheated (again) or not it’s not that the outcome of the game would have changed. It’s a matter of jmoral character and sportsmanship — values that belly-chick has demonstrated he does not hold — than of the score.

Y’all watching this “tempest in a teapot” thread?
Forget the posssible help in the passing game if the ball was deflated and a pound lighter.
You could tell the Patriot running back Blount was significantly helped by carrying a lighter ball.
I suppose that the ball was deflated when the Patriots were on offense and then refilled when it went over to the Packers.
Why just last week, the Baltimore Ravens were clucking about the fact that the Patriots used unusual formations and employed trick plays in their divisional playoff game.
The horror! I bet Belichick has a reverse flea-flicker and a hook and lateral in store for the Seahawks in the upcoming SB. That will have tongues wagging all summer.

Cheating only matters if it affects the outcome of the game. /sarc
I know in college ball the officials take possession of the balls before the game starts. They take them and examine them. From that point forward the balls are handled on the sidelines from the “ball boys” who are standing next to the line judge. The refs then take possession of the balls during half time.
I can only imagine that the pro refs have people in control of the balls at all time.
If there was BS going on with the balls, the refs are at fault. It is there responsibility to make sure the proper balls are in play at all time.
This is just sour grapes.
Their cheating goes way back to the 70s.
Recall playoff game vs the Dolphins on a snowy field,
Pats go to kick a field goal, a tractor powered brush comes out, clears the holder spot. Pats win. Clearing the spot was/is illegal.
I'd root for the Red Chinese team to beat the Patriots.
“I think I’ve heard it all at this point,” Brady laughed. “That’s the last of my worries. I don’t even respond to stuff like this.”
Everyone want it to be a cheat. It’s just not.
What balls did the Colts use?
