American Sniper: Everything Hollywood Hates
rushlimbaugh.com ^ | 1-19-2015 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: The primary criticism of American Sniper ran in the New Republic, and it's what's feeding all the other criticism. The criticism in the New Republic is written by a guy named... What's his name? Dennis Jett. He admits he's not even seen it. He hasn't even seen it. The criticism of American Sniper is that Clint Eastwood has written and directed a movie that's celebrating a murderer -- a racist, bigoted murderer -- Chris Kyle who murders innocent Iraqi brown people.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99k3u9ay1gs

We in America, by going to see this movie, are celebrating barbarism. We are celebrating murder. We are celebrating a sociopath. How dare Eastwood do this and how dare we fall for it! That chorus is being joined by more and more people, particularly in Hollywood and on the left. After all, folks, it's about a redneck from Texas who is better using a gun than anybody ever has been. What is there for Hollywood to like about that?

It's everything Hollywood hates: Rednecks, Texas, guns. Add to it war, Iraq? "Wrong, immoral, because of Bush. What's the guy doing? Killing innocent Iraqis, a murderer! No wonder America is hated in the world. This movie demonstrates why." That's what they're doing to American Sniper, and they're just getting started.

Saw the movie this morning (one of only three women in the audience) and thought it was very well-done show about the life and short career of Kyle, as a trained SEAL sniper.

While it shows lots of violence, nothing was done to glorify shooting of anyone other than the bad guys and depicted Kyle's difficulty in taking out a woman and child who posed deadly threats to Americans in Iraq attempting to bring some kind of order to that country.

Kyle was shown as not terribly able to reconnect with his wife during his times at home but as it was told from his own words (presumably as I have yet to read his book), it neither makes him out to be anything other than who he was - a guy who loved his country, his family and his fellow soldiers.

He saw what he did as a job that needed doing and he just so happened to be very good at it.

He wasn't lying around looking to take out women and children in a foreign country but rather protecting his men while they did a job that we as Americans called upon them to do, i.e. rid the world of a bunch of people bent on using WMD against other countries, whom they hate merely for not following the brand of evil they follow.

What I failed to include is that I would certainly encourage anyone, men, women and older teens, especially males, see the movie, with the caveat that almost every other word is the usual four letter F-word.

That and some other nonsense which is very offensive to me as well as the other stuff Hollywierd includes to encourage adolescent males (of every age) to see the movie.

Most "stuff" complained about here occurs in the early minutes, so if one can get beyond that and the F-bombs constantly used, as well as being able to distinguish movie-killing from real life, it's a story that deserves to be seen, but be forewarned this movie has an "R" rating for a reason.

This is not a "woman's movie" which I never would see anyway but just to let the ladies on FR know that if you don't mind the bad guys being sent to join their 72 Virgins or even the good guys sometimes dying but no real gratuitous shots, just the facts of war as shown, see the movie.

Lots more gore seen in "Saving Private Ryan," so if you handled that OK, see this movie.

I've seen enough movies to know they show the best scenes in the preview. I figure this one is no exception.

Well, there is one thing about the movie that Hollyweird surely loves...

The huge box office take.

You would think these morons would buy a clue as to how to make some real money instead of merely playing around on celluloid with their own weird fantasies. The world is their oyster but they would rather produce crap that they enjoy and want to promote.

Spielberg was set to direct this at one point. He didn’t like the low budget of the project and withdrew. Fascinating to think what that would have been.

... maybe they should make a movie about what they consider to be a hero to them, an abortion doctor. They can pick a name of a doctor that has performed thousands of abortion and say that this doc is a hero protecting womens’ reproduction rights. Make a movie about that or just shut up.

Actually, I think they have. They just flopped so they're forgotten.

I have faith in the human spirit. The problem isn't Hollywood, it's the people in Hollywood. Clint Eastwood was one who faced them down and went his own way. His "Dirty Harry" movies were plainly anti-liberal, classics! So many great movies from that man! God bless him.

” So many great movies from that man!”

“Gran Torino”-—— a fantastic movie appropriate for almost all ages.

The garbage Hollywood produces is mind boggling.

Beyond ken! Astounding! Jaw-dropping! {^)

But every once in awhile it produces a gem that becomes treasured and quoted by people, in a good way. I detest the moral decay that Hollywood projects, but I love the occasional memorable gem it puts out.

I love going to public movie theaters but hardly ever go, like you. But it's so fun to be at a good movie with a live audience!
