With the great caveat that it is the beast in our hearts that needs to be conquered first. Then, as an exercise and object example, the wicked politicians of the age may be flushed out too. No guarantee of the second. A promise applies to the first: with God all things are possible.
I don't agree that mankind is utterly corrupt. I think it's more that those who strive to have power over others are easily corrupted.
We'd probably get a less corruptible HOR and US Senate if the names of the chosen were picked at random.
A centralized power structure is going to draw the worst of the worst.
The problem is that too many people desire power over others.
You can see this in common relationships where one party abuses the other by means of control.
This dynamic drives many people, and a centralized power structure draws them like an electromagnet.
I do not think that corrupt people are the exception to the rule, in 2015 it’s the norm.
