Senate Votes 98-1 That Climate Change 'Is Not A Hoax'
NBC News ^ | January 21, 2015

United States senators are now on the record on the question of whether climate change is "a hoax."

The Senate on Wednesday passed a measure stating that "climate change is real and is not a hoax" by a margin of 98-1.

The amendment was designed in part as a jab at GOP Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, who has questioned the science of climate change.

Inhofe voted for the measure, arguing that the true "hoax" is that climate change is the result of human activity.

"Climate is changing, and climate has always changed, and always will, there's archeological evidence of that, there's biblical evidence of that, there's historic evidence of that, it will always change," he said on the Senate floor. "The hoax is that there are some people that are so arrogant to think that they are so powerful that they can change climate. Man can't change climate."

“Update: Two later votes on amendments linking humans to climate change were rejected. One was introduced by Sen. John Hoeven (R-S.D.), who ended up voting against it. A vote to end a filibuster on that amendment failed 59 to 40. Another, from Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), said that humans were “significantly responsible” for climate change. It failed to achieve cloture as well, 50-49, after Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) argued that it placed too much emphasis on human causes.”

“It was a convenient vote for Republicans. It allows them to say they believe it, or don’t believe it.”

I, for one, believe that climate change is real. Don’t you believe that?

Well, they are correct! The temperature goes up; the temperature goes down. The wind blows hard; the air is still. There's rainy days, snowy days, cloudy days, and sunny days.

The climate definitely changes.

The items you listed are cycles not change. In another million years or so we will have another big Ice age and before that another small one. There was A warm period equal to the Medieval Warm Period a couple of thousand years earlier.

Climate cycles are like weather cycles except they are on such a long term cycle it is hard for people to realize they are cycles.

The whole universe is set up on cycles that are even longer than Earth cycles. The cycles are not going to change until Christ returns and there is a new heaven and Earth.

Global warming has NEVER been proven to be false. In fact it is absolutely true and has been since the beginning of the earth.

What is false and “politicized science” is “Anthropogenic Global Warming”.

The Vikings experienced Global Warming during their time, when Greenland was green and they had villages and farms there. Global warming is indisputably true!

It was a convenient vote for Republicans. It allows them to say they believe it, or don’t believe it. They do this kind of thing all the time (e.g., vote against something in committee and vote for the same thing on the floor).

B.S.

It was the Republicans outmaneuvering the opposition, the Democrats, when they tried to derail the Keystone Pipeline legislation.

There was NOTHING in that amendment that stated that Climate Change was man-made. The climate has been changing from the beginning of time since God created the earth.

The Sun has gotten warmer and cooler which has affected the climate.

Volcanoes have erupted more some times and less some times variously cooling the climate or allowing it to heat up relatively speaking.

” He is a global warming warrior and yet he voted aye with an explanation.”

He was co-sponsor for the amendment.

Well fine. The sense of the Senate was still: “It’s silly.”

Sorry I stirred things up with this post. There are always links to the full article, and I decided the paragraph with Sen’s Inholf’s comments made the point. He is a global warming warrior and yet he voted aye with an explanation.

Understood.

Please accept my apologies for being to harsh as to your motivations.

That one paragraph adds the necessary context to help those who make a habit of not reading the article from wandering off into the weeds with a whole lot of assumptions.

Can you ask the Admin Moderator to add back in the missing paragraph please?

“That is a redefinition that liberals have made. Why should we let liberals grab the language?”

Its funny you should say that because liberals have always had a dominating influence over the language due to their control of the media.

What we can do to undermine that is continue to proclaim support for good things and let them confuse themselves as to what we mean.

Even then they will dominate the language just as they dominate the media

Those things I listed are Climate Change, which consists of Global Warming and Global Cooling.

Quoting ...

Climate change, periodic modification of Earth’s climate brought about as a result of changes in the atmosphere as well as interactions between the atmosphere and various other geologic, chemical, biological, and geographic factors within the Earth system.

The atmosphere is a dynamic fluid that is continually in motion. Both its physical properties and its rate and direction of motion are influenced by a variety of factors, including solar radiation, the geographic position of continents, ocean currents, the location and orientation of mountain ranges, atmospheric chemistry, and vegetation growing on the land surface. All these factors change through time. Some factors, such as the distribution of heat within the oceans, atmospheric chemistry, and surface vegetation, change at very short timescales. Others, such as the position of continents and the location and height of mountain ranges, change over very long timescales. Therefore, climate, which results from the physical properties and motion of the atmosphere, varies at every conceivable timescale.

“I heard they were going to attach it to the pipeline bill ...”

As long as we conservatives clearly spell out what we mean and are able to communicate that, then we control the language not them.

But as it has always been, they have as dominating control over language as they do over the means of information distribution(media).

A 2ndary network may be made to tell other conservatives that this is to mock the Democrat’s twisted definition of the term “climate Change” as necessarily being Man Controlled. But only if every conservative believes an knows that will it work.
