This is the exact type of speech the 1st Amendment was designed to protect. You don’t need protections for popular speech, only unpopular or potentially offensive speech. What the author proposes is to allow anyone who wants to be violent to be able to censor whatever they want. Classic hecklers veto.
NOT when the definition of “insult” is infinite.

Simply depicting the pedophile rapist savage mohammerhead is not "falsely" doing anything. If muslimes are insulted by the very image, then that is THEIR problem, and is indeed protected by free speech.
If the Pentagon Papers and Robert Mapplethorpe are examples of free speech that is protected even if abhorrent, then certainly anything you can write about islime is protected as well. The "clear and present danger" rule does NOT apply.

So either the left was just funnin’ with all the blasphemous depictions of Jesus Christ and his mother Mary, or they know in the depths of whatever passes for their souls that there is really, truly a difference between Christians-even the fundamentalist ones-and Muslims-which is that mocking Christian symbols and the Christian God and revered Christian figures, won’t get them killed. But they continue to conflate fundamentalist Christians with “extremist” (devout) Muslims.
