They have redesigned toilets available that splash horrifically if you aren’t seated.
And interestingly enough, they are even available here in the states.

On a visit to Germany I was appalled by German toilets. I couldn't believe a people with such mechanical and design talent could possible come up with monstrosities like I found in many places. On the positive side I found that stand-up urinals in many restaurants and public places were equipped with "targets," usually a bee or wasp. That added a little fun to the procedure.
