The symbolic doomsday clock moved to three minutes before midnight on Thursday because of the gathering dangers of climate change and nuclear proliferation, signalling the gravest threat to humanity since the throes of the cold war.
It was the closest the clock has come to midnight since 1984, when arms-control negotiations stalled and virtually all channels of communication between the US and the former Soviet Union closed down.
$cientists suggested that the greater danger lay in the failure of leaders to recognise and act on climate change.
“Stunning government failures have imperiled civilisations on a global scale,” Benedict said. “World leaders have failed to act on a scale or at a speed to protect humanity from catastrophe.”

I say screw this. If the climate lunatics want to double and triple down on this idiocy, they need to come forward in front of the world tomorrow and tell all of us:
1- how to fix it
2- what happens if they are wrong and make it worse
3- what is their mitigation plan.
And if they refuse to show up, call them out for what they are. A front for global Marxism.
Which interestingly enough was where Nuclear research in America got its start.
I’m sure at the time it was a propaganda instrument to pressure the USA into unilateral nuclear disarmament.

The Doomsday Clock strikes me as a slightly more figurative variation of “Peak Oil”
We’ve been only a few years away from peak oil since the 1970s. But we never seem to reach it.

The movement was FOUNDED by Marxists. Back in 1975, Newsweek front cover “ The Coming Ice Age” Time followed up in 1977. No cooling happened. In the 1990’s, the left started global warming, using almost the same arguments as they tried with the ice age. CPUSA was one of the first orgs to endorse “Global Warming. It is still near the top of their “to do” list.
