Local pastor says abortion industry targets blacks

Identity theft, the Rev. David Young says, is nothing new.

Its been going on for hundreds years with African Americans as its target, according to the pastor of Prevailing Word World Outreach Center. And today, he adds, it is made manifest in a disproportionately high number of black abortions.

Young spoke earlier this week at the Light a Candle for Life program that followed the lighting of 1,000 luminaries on Kennedy Square. The theme of the annual pro-life event was “Black Lives Matter — Every Life Matters,” and Young painted a picture of a centuries-long effort to marginalize and diminish American blacks.

Since 1973, when the Supreme Court legalized abortion, 58 million lives — including up to 23 million black infants — were ended by the procedure, Young said.

“I am African American, I know what racism is,” he declared. “But we in the African American community should be just as upset that 23 million of us have been killed by our own people.”

Young cited statistics showing that although blacks make up just 13 percent of the general population, they have 35 percent of the abortions in America. Similarly, in Pennsylvania, they comprise 11 percent of the population, but in 2013, had 42 percent of the abortions.

“How did such a culture of death infiltrate America?”

The beginning of the answer, he said, goes back to the days of slavery.

WHO AM I?

“We must all find our identity in Christ,” Young preached, citing Scripture to back his message.

In Psalm 139, he said, the author notes that God “created my inmost being (and) knit me together in my mother’s womb ... all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

“Every unborn child, God’s thoughts are toward them,” Young noted. “Every life is from God.”

When John 3:16 says that whoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life, the Greek word used for “life” means “the life of God,” Young explained. “It means you not only have eternal life, but that you have the life of God right now.”

On the other hand, Young went on, “Slavery was a diabolical attempt to eliminate the black man from his country, his culture, his language, along with stripping him from his identity. (Slaves were) treated inhumanely and constantly told that they were inhuman and inferior. Families were separated; they were treated like savages.

“To this day, there are pockets of people in America who believe they are superior to the black man, and there are pockets of people in the black race who believe that they are inferior to the white man.”

Passed down from one generation to the next, such views and the behavior they spawn have created what Young calls an identity crisis in Black America.

“If it were not so, there would not be a proliferation of black-on-black crime and murder at a disproportionately higher rate among blacks,” he said. “If you treat any person a number of times in an inhumane way, even they will look at themselves and begin to say, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’

“When you don’t have any hope or value, and you are hopeless, you also become reckless. If you do not know your identity, you will have no voice. If you don’t know who you are, you don’t know where you’re going.”

FEAR & FREEDOM

That, Young said, was where blacks stood when at last they were freed from slavery. And whites were scared because of it.

“Here are 4 million people who were treated like savages, who are now going to be free,” Young said. “What were (whites) going to do? They were afraid of insurrection, they were afraid of retribution, they were afraid that there was going to be intermarriage.”

After initial thoughts of shipping all blacks back to Africa, Young preached, whites believed they had found an answer in the eugenics movement of the early 20th century.

Eugenics, according to the freedictionary.com, is “The study or practice of attempting to improve the human gene pool by encouraging the reproduction of people considered to have desirable traits and discouraging or preventing the reproduction of people considered to have undesirable traits.”

Among its tenets were birth control, marriage restrictions, compulsory sterilization and segregation, both racial and the separation of the mentally ill from the general population. Eugenics policies first popped up in the U.S. in the early 1900s, but began to fall out of favor in the 1930s when Nazi Germany embraced them.

Nonetheless, Young said, for a few decades, eugenics were used to target blacks.

He labeled Margaret Sanger — founder of American Birth Control League, which later became Planned Parenthood — as the point person, saying that “powerful, rich leaders” of the early 20th century funded her “to do their dirty work.”

These crusaders couldn’t come right out and say that they were aiming to eliminate the Negro, Young declared, “so they used code words. They were looking to eliminate the ‘feeble-minded,’ the ‘uneducable.’ Well, if you never taught us how to read, and you never taught us how to write, and we’re not employable — well, duh.”

Even after eugenics began to fall out of fashion in the 1930s, and despite Sanger’s death in 1966, the effort continued, Young said. “Washington politicians, they tried to pass the Birth Control Bill in 1970, but blacks could see the handwriting on the wall, and the bill didn’t pass.”

ROE vs. WADE

On Jan. 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued its ruling that made abortion legal throughout a woman’s pregnancy. It was a decision, Young said, that “made the eugenics people jump up and down for joy.”

“Before Roe vs. Wade, 80 percent of the abortions were to white women,” he said. “After Roe vs. Wade, the numbers were reversed, and the people in the eugenics movement knew, ‘Now, we’ve got a way.’

“Now, Planned Parenthood and eugenics could target the black area — legally. Eighty percent of abortion clinics are in black areas. I wonder why.”

Since 1973, Young added, abortion has killed more African Americans than AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and violent crime combined.

“I’m mad when a young black man, unarmed, gets killed,” Young said. “But I am just as mad when 1,300 of us die every day by abortion.”

Young emphasized the God is not pleased with any baby being aborted, and stressed that the issue is not one of the black race, or the white race, but of the human race.

“We need to look beyond the color of people’s skin,” Young said, “and see the content of our character.”

The political landscape of America would change overnight if blacks were to realize that conservatives are their real friends.

They’ve been lied to for so long by Democrats. I would hate to be any of these politicians when they have to face the Lord on their judgement day.
