Funny, i’ve been using PC’s since the early 90’s and i have never had a problem with them.
Mac’s on the other hand come across as a child’s toy to me.
We were comfortable with this and knew what to do, where the Mac crowd was helpless until the funny little icons were invented to show them how to do things.
To each his own. I own Mac Products and PCs. Some folks like getting in touch with their inner child!
I bought my first Mac in the early 90’s, liked it and decided to invest in the company. Over a few years I spent about $16,000 on Apple stock and just “let it ride” through good times and bad. Today its worth about $287,000 or a 1,700% pre-tax gain.
I doubt that “Toys Are Us” does as well! :-)
“..ive been using PCs since the early 90s ..”
I think we’ve found your problem. I worked in a Silicon Valley company that had upwards of 1,000 Macs and the IT department was a couple of guys. Worst thing I had was a hard drive failure in 9 years there, and the drive’s data was recovered and sent back to my new disc on the net. I also worked for a very well-know Silicon Valley company (actually right next door to H-P’s corporate HQ) that was PC-based and it was a mess. The biggest problem with PC’ s while they all work the same (more or less) they are not all built the same and therein lies the problem. With PC’s you need to buy ALL your requirements from a single one of the major mfr’s and replace them every three years. At least that was what I found in the corporate environment. And it sure took Apple to lead the way in the GUI user interface, and force PC’s away from DOS.
"Child's Toy"?
REALLY?
My "child's toy" can run every single Windows program you have. . . in fact, my "child's toy" is running THREE versions of Windows, XP, 7, and 8.1, as well as two versions of Linux, in addition to its native UNIX, and OS X.10.2. Mowowie, that is SEVEN operating systems. . . and I have run all seven simultaneously just to show I could do it, under OS X in sandboxes. In addition I have several more OSes around that can be run should I need them to support my clients including MS-DOS 3.6, Amiga-DOS, THEOS, and a couple of more which can be run in Virtual machines also in sandboxes. That is SOME "Child's Toy". . . which is what you called it only because you are ignorant of its capabilities.
Let's take a look at these people who don't think the Macs are "toys." These particular people are rocket scientists and engineers, specifically the people who were responsible for landing the Curiosity Rover on Mars. . . and let's look at the computers they have chosen as their personal computers:
. . .which the engineers bought with their own money. So much for the Apple products are "Child's Toys" meme. . . Now, some on FR have claimed these Macs are not running Apple's operating system. . . so let's take a closer look to make sure they are:
Looks as if the one who doesn't know what he's talking about is you. Why don't you learn something about Macs before you denigrate them based on hearsay from other people just as ignorant as you are?
Apple Macs are extremely powerful computers.
