California Declares Electronic Cigarettes a Health Threat
ABC News ^ | January 28, 2015 | By FENIT NIRAPPIL

California health officials on Wednesday declared electronic cigarettes a health threat that should be strictly regulated like tobacco products, joining other states and health advocates across the U.S. in pushing back against the fast-growing device.

The California Department of Public Health report says e-cigarettes emit cancer-causing chemicals and get users hooked on nicotine, although there is still more research to be done on the immediate and long-term health effects.

"Without action, it is likely that California's more than two decades of progress to prevent and reduce traditional tobacco use will erode as e-cigarettes re-normalize smoking behavior," the report says.

Not an e-cig user here.

It’s all about what people choose to do, isn’t it?

But for nanny staters, that’s just not acceptable...they want to regulate anything and everything, in addition to taxing products in the name of “health”.

If tobacco has clearly defined hazards and people choose to cease tobacco for e-cigs...but avoid many, maybe not all, but many of the hazards, I don’t have a problem with that.

I’ve walked past a few who were using e-cigs...some have no odor, others have a pleasant, fruity or other “flavor” to them...

Personally, I avoid ingesting anything that comes from China. Even our dogs don’t get anything from China...

Just too risky.

The biggest threat to health in California?

The California State Legislature. That institution is filled with some of the most venomous and toxic forms of thinking in all of the territory once known as “the United States of America”.

Oh, there are a few scattered voices calling out, pleading for even a smidgen of sanity, but much of the rest of the membership is of unholy origin, and they are immune to the least degree of rationality and recognition of reality.

So let me understand this. You were in Walmart, someone was smoking an e-cig close enough to you to cause fumes to go into your nose, causing nausea? Hmmmm, I vaped on an airplane for five hours, under my shoulder cape.........not a single word from the people in front, back or beside me, flight attendants didn’t notice either. Of course, they didn’t see me vaping so the power of suggestion wasn’t an issue.

Which e-cigs do you recommend? I’d like to quit.

How does this affect hookah lounges and “vape” lounges? Our area saw an explosion of these businesses in the last year or two.

The health argument is totally beside the point.

Liberals spent decades making people instinctively repulsed by the look of someone smoking and they weren’t going to give that up.

In New York, they banned e-cigarettes in all the same places real cigarettes are banned becuase they “look” like real cigarettes, causing “confusion and confrontation”:

***
“Because many of the e-cigarettes are designed to look like cigarettes and be used just like them, they can lead to confusion or confrontation,” Quinn said.

The speaker added that the ban will end what she called the re-normalization of smoking in public places, 1010 WINS’ Al Jones reported.

“It’s not the norm anymore. Very few people feel uncomfortable now saying you can’t smoke in public. We don’t want to step backwards in that,” Quinn said.”

And they are doing the same thing with guns, hence arresting or suspending elementary school children for pointing their fingers or sticks at each other.

It didn’t smell like anything I’ve ever smelled before, but it was disgusting. Maybe some of them have no smell at all, but this one defintely did.

They generally smell like whatever the taste the person chose, with some exceptions. That you want something banned because of the smell makes you sound like an advocate of big government.

The Kangertech stuff is pretty good. Njoy I would not recommend, because the top part doesn’t come apart so easy.
JustFog is good too.

You can expect to spend about $25 on a start up rig and some juice. So if it doesn’t work, you’re out that.

But from the very first time I tried an ecig, I have had NO URGE to smoke!
So it works for me. And works GREAT!
